That’s kinda what new cars do.

    if you want a good…and real…Toyota

you might consider a 70 series 4.5l manual diesel LC.

Yeah so thats what they mean by theres a possibility.

Theres a possibility yours wasnt cleaned out. We’ll check the serial numbers and find out if it was part of the non cleaned group. In the mean time we dont know. Theres a possibility yours was one of those that didnt get cleared out.

Yes, either it was cleared out or it wasnt, in the mean time we dont know, so there’s a possibility that it wasnt. Theres also a possibility it was.

“Theres a possibility it will rain today.” Either it will rain or it wont, but until the day ends, we wont know if it did or didn't rain.

“There is a possibility Im going to the beach today, Im undecided.” No, either I will go or I wont go. We wont know until the day ends if I go to the beach or not today.

you mean to tell me a defect brand new would blow an engine quickly making its repair be $0 to the customer, as that is how things work? Likely with free loaner during repair?

OH NO! What will people do!

Whether they own the vehicle in question or not. And then use the existence of the possibility of a problem to project it on another, completely unrelated model, which they have zero intention of purchasing.

so he got to keep miles off his truck?

    nice

when I worked at the dealer
customer googled a random TSB. Brought their vehicle in. Under the impression the TSB was applicable to their vehicle. It was not. The TSB was for a different vehicle.

    That'll be $230.

Not sure if you're just a dealership shill or whatever but people don't buy brand new vehicles to have them become inoperable right away.

You're acting like customers should be grateful to have faulty vehicles. Which is absolutely insane and truly a sign of where we're at with consumer products in 2024.

It sucks but in reality Toyota did you a favor since they were under no obligation to replace the frames or to provide a loaner.

Thank you. There are two 4th Gen specific FB groups that I'm in, and it was one of those. I confuse which one is which because their names are so similar.

Never underestimate social media’s ability to amplify what may be a statistically insignificant issue with its infinite bandwidth to complain.

Note that YouTube literally pays people for producing complaints over and over, which is a concept not unlike waste disposal.

Not denying what may be serious issues, but as always grain of salt.

YT is a cesspool. Pretty much anyone trying to make income off it, is well off the path toward enlightenment. As such, they have nothing of worth to offer.

As for this recall, it is important to note that this is a mandated safety recall by NHTSA. Toyota can't just offer an extended warranty and cross their fingers. They have to make a good faith effort to find the motors that could fail on the road, before they fail on the road. Probably will have to pull oil pans, valve covers, scope cylinders, etc., to look for signs of non-typical wear. Maybe free oil changes and oil analysis. Establishing the metrics of the litmus test will be interesting.

This is a manufacturing defect, not a design defect, so there is no reason to be concerned for the Tacoma engine if Toyota re-ups thier commitment to QA/QC in the future. It is, however, another sign that Toyota's commitment to quality is declining. Hopefully they don't go full Boeing (i.e., retard).

that crap failed on my 2016 days before the bumper to bumper failed. I won't touch a 4th gen without an extended warranty. I might still touch one but only because it's not like the 16 was any better and if I can get some money out of it before it falls apart I will.
