Looking to put a better undercoating, seeing the posts about por90 or whatever. Wondering for those that have removed the crap Toyota puts on your frame if a needle scaler works best?
    Or what method you used.

Depends on the type of undercoating .

Some is so soft a needle scaler will not do anything.

I have tried several different ways

Gasket stripper to make it soft scrap off with putty knife

Oxy-fuel torch to heat and remove you need a fire watcher for this

Air hammer with a very wide chisel blade .

I have even tried sand blasting

It comes down to the type of undercoating just which method works best

Okay thanks for the replies. I will poke around down there and see if the undercoat feels brittle enough for the needle scaler. And look into that other tool as well, never heard of that. I have access to air tool hookups at work so I'm hoping to do a bit of preventive work on the frame when it warms up.
