I will be buying tires soon and I need to know if 285/75/16 will rub on -10 offset wheels. Currently i have 265/75/16 and they do rub on the plastic where the mud flaps used to be. I did some slight modification there but still rubs a little on full lock. But can a proper alignment or shear dumb luck cause 285/75 to not rub? Bilstein 5100's in the front with aftermarket UCA's btw. I've heard people say that some will rub and some won't. So is there a way or will I need to cut more plastic or for sure do a cab mount chop?

If your current tires rub and you are going bigger it will rub more. Very common question, possibly one of the most common questions on the entire forum. Cut/trim, massage fenders, cab mount chop or relocation.

This is what 285/75 on oem rims look like. I was thinking I need the -10 rim offset myself
Truck came like this. I have 3.5 toytec lift kit.

Get yourself a spacer lift, cheap, easy and if you’re doing an alignment anyways…might as well do it all at once. Depending on your offset and alignment number you MAY get away with no cab mount chop.

When you say spacer lift do you mean strut spacer? I'm sitting on Bilstein 5100's with OME springs. 2" lift now. Should I extend the 5100's to the 3" setting? I know I'll have to raise the rear to level it again but are you saying add strut spacers to what lift I already have?

Didn’t realize you were lifted already, I think if you add the 1/2” you’ll achieve the full 3” lift on the front end. I was able to get away with 285’s on a 2.5” lift but with a CMC.

285/75r16 regardless of lift simply won't fit in the wheel well without trimming, pinch weld flattening, cab mount chop.

285s on -10 offset wheels will cause your truck to explode.

I have a level kit plus 1.5 inch lift. 285/70/17 Tires with a -5 offset. I do not get any rubs at all. The Tires fit perfectly and have had it that way for 3 years.

Yes, I have the rough country block on the front and the spring block on the back. I did it when the Gen 2 recall happened for the leaf springs. so I got the new leaf springs and the lift. worked out great.

2.5” OME lift, Koenig Six Shooter wheels, 275/70r17 Nokian Outpost AT, CMC, Nitro 4.88s, Greenlane aluminum sliders, CBI aluminum skid, Greenlane aluminum front bumper, Out Gear Solutions HC rear bumper, Baja SAE fogs
This is the right answer. While some might get away without the "whole shabang" if you really want 0% chance of rubbing in all flexing/wheel turn circumstances, this is what you need.

It was super simple to put on. I am not a mechanic. Took 45 minutes to put on the front. One side at a time in my driveway. The rear took a little longer,
