I've been looking for a solution to get my spare out from under the spare tire location and onto my hitch. It seems the best two options for a hitch mounted spare tire carrier are either the Wilco Hitchgate Solo or the Rigd Supply UltraSwing. If you own either of these would you be able to leave a little review or pro/con of your setup. Much appreciated.

Personally, if I was going to purchase I'd go with the rigd since it maintains better ground clearance and departure angle.

I love mine never had an issue and that picture was the older version. I have the High Clearance Version now. And soon they will be sending me their offset version to test with all new locking mechanism etc. Powdercoating is immaculate even after 4 years in the Salt Belt.

I was going back and forth between the two as well. When that Rig'd Holiday deal popped up I jumped on that.

They're probably both fine though. Rig'd touts the zero wobble and I can attest to that. If you ride, the bike rack mount on the swingout is nice as well.

I've installed a few of the Rigd on various platforms and can say that we've beat the hell out of it and it doesn't make a sound.

Curiously, what is the intention of using this? If not for four wheeling, what is gained? And if for four wheeling, it looks like the gains would minimal if theyre even are any. Is this just so that the spare is more accessible in the event of a flat?

in our cases it was to be able to carry a spare at all. upgraded tire sizes didn't allow a spare to be carried in the stock location. It also allowed for additional components to be carried e.g. tables, hi-lifts, etc. It also provided the ability to remove it all when the vehicle is just visiting the mall.

Where did you get that bedside bike mount? How does it do at freeway speeds?

Mainly storage and ease of daily use. I camp in the bed and didn't want to toss traction mat's, gas tanks, shovel, and ruck sack back there then pull everything out and relocate before calling it a night. Also wanted to keep the ability to take everything off when not in use. The only trails I do are desert washboards, forest service roads, and mild rocky terrain. Nothing gnarly so don't need high clearance and no point having the weight of a full bumper on the truck everyday.

Ordered a Rigd ultraswing over a month ago. Not a single response from the company in any way.
Today I called them to see why I haven't heard anything and they didn't answer the phone.

I just canceled my order, as that's wildly unprofessional.

Bummer. I asked Prinsu for some help a while back numerous times and never heard back. Love my rack, but it changed my opinion of them.

I was lucky enough to buy my prinsu rack through a local company, so I wouldn't ever have to deal directly with them. Like you, I too love the product though.
Chasing manufacturers is the worst. I'm sure I would have enjoyed the swing out, but I gave them over $1000 for a month, and recieved no word. Website says two weeks for shipping though!

I called them today and got an answer. They said they have a enormous amount of back orders that they're currently filling. I asked about local pickup but they said it's still 2 or more weeks out. I'd really like to order one too but need something sooner.

That's very surprising, did you try emailing or using their website contact?. i've always had a response from someone within 1 day, normally a few hours whenever i have questions about product or order updates. great customer service in my opinion but thats speaking from my experience with them. from the last update i got a few days ago they are back from powdercoat and are now shipping.
