New 2014 Tacoma. 500 miles on it and I am looking at it and I notice the doors are two different shades of white. The fender flares are different than the body.. Common or should I do something about it? Live with it?

I kinda see the rear doors a bit darker than the front...maybe just the lighting?

The drivers door and the flares seem to be one shade of white and the rear door and the bed seem to be another shade of white... A little more grey looking. Almost like grey primer bleeding through.....

If its a fuck up on Toyotas part at least they were symmetrical about it. Its the same on both sides!

The flares are probably sprayed at another time off the truck my 2013 super white is the same thing with the flares.

The flares and other plastic pieces can sometimes look a bit different than the metal pieces in different lighting conditions but that shouldn't apply to a difference between the two doors

Is the front quarter panel the same as the back door and bed side? and just the door a different color?

It is possible and has happened, but hopefully not to your truck...
Cosmetic body damage could have happened at the dealership and they had it repaired. If so, I wouldn't count on a Carfax report for it.

If it bugs you too much, ask the dealer about the color difference and if they can do something about it.

This. My wifes super white T4R is the same way. Plastic pieces are slightly different color than the metal body pieces.

You know when you see a car with a bad paint job and you can tell it was in an accident and the paint doesn't match the new fender? That's what it looks like. Did Toyota use Earl Scheib on my truck? Hesitant to talk with the dealer cause we all know how that goes....

Yes, Both front doors seem as white as the flares but the body seems grey-er if that makes sense.

The paint adheres to metal and plastic differently, and I think the flex additive changes the color just a hair. It's more noticeable on metallic colors though.

Again, your case is different since the doors should both be metal. Front half built in San Antonio, back half built in Baja? (kidding)

This is actually true. Tijuana builds beds for all Tacomas and a portion of Double Cab front bodies. All non-Double Cab front bodies are built in SA. However, I believe the beds and front bodies are painted together in one facility.

Take it to three independent collision shops and ask them to assess if the truck has been repainted. Hell, ask them if there's any collision repair...

All toyota plastic pieces are sub contracted out and painted separate from the vehicle

It's hard to tell from pictures to be honest. Taking it to a auto body shop like KenLyns says will probably be the best bet imo. They will know what tell tale signs to look for if something has been repainted from damage on the lot.

This actually happens soooooo much it's unreal. We get cars all the time that a lot jockey has scratched or dented and then they sell it as new. Kinda messed up.

I would take that shit back to the dealer and have them fix it. I am suprised that it was noticed during the delivery.

I have a Porsche and the doors look like a different color than the fenders, but it is the way light reflects off the car that causes this effect. May be the same on the truck. Take it to a independent body shop and have them look at it.
