I forgot to put it in the right gear, but I did 50-70 in about 10 seconds in 5th gear today. Almost completely warmed up, a/c off, about 80 degrees out, elevation 50 feet, elevation gain of maybe 10 feet through the test. Pedal straight to the floor at the start of the test.

I'll try it tomorrow in fourth. :D

BTW, a sweet tool for checking elevation can be found below. Pick the United States first, then places (pick a city) then pick height, then put the crosshairs on your test street.

Ok so where do I get the "seafoam" or "44k" at? Walmart? Autozone? Oriellys? Carquest? This are all I have in my small town. Not even a napa.

Is your tranny up/downshifting the way it should? After the work you've done there should only be a couple issues that could be causing your problem. Have you tried bringing the vehicle up to speed by operating the shift lever manually?

Seafoam you can get at Oreillys etc

44K is a BG product which is at Napa (or maybe some other independents)

X2. I had to floor my 95.5 2.7L w/ 33's to keep it at 70mph in 5th, he should be cruising easy with the 3.4 and 30.5" tires. Agreed, S/C on a sick engine instead of tracking down the problem is a recipe for disaster and a huge waste of money.

    That sucks.

My 2003 Access Cab auto 3.4L V6 hums along at 75mph. Even with three people, 9 scuba tanks and cold water dive gear - 1500 pounds and I have plenty of power.
I have to use cruise control other wise I'll keep going 95. It's so smooth.

FWIW, same test in third gear, less than 4 seconds.

So, OP, and anyone else with a stick, there's your crude benchmark for acceleration on a healthy stock V6 engine, to help determine if your engine is ill or if your expectations are too high.

    EDIT: With California's ethanol-laden gas. :D

Sorry, had to catch my breath from laughing so hard at some of these posts! Yeahi think it shifts I'm. It's smooth and not banging or anything. I'll give the seafoam/maf sensor cleaner a try this way and report back with my findings. Thanks guys

Fig, I saw the following post in another thread (emphasis mine) and have to ask, what happened between then and now? Did your truck gradually get slower or did it happen all at once?
