I was just looking at the Alpine iLX-F411. It has an HDMI in and HDMI out. I don't have any specifics on how it's connected e.g. passthrough. What would the use case be for having an output?

Alpine also makes an overhead monitor (like minivans have for the back seat) that has an HDMI input, so this HDMI in/out allows you to hook up your phone with an HDMI adapter and mirror/stream content to the Main and external monitors

Along with phones, you can hook up any HDMI-compatible device. Gaming devices, Fire Sticks, etc.
