Why buttons and knobs on the center console like a car?

Discussion in '4th Gen. Tacomas (2024+)' started by yotadust, Apr 24, 2025 at 4:41 AM.

?

3rd Gen vs 4th Gen front cabin (not considering the 4th gen's seat height and head room fixes)

  1. 3rd gen is more tougher

  2. 4th gen is more tougher

Checked out a new Tacoma today but it felt so much like a car with the buttons and knobs on the center console like that. Don't they know we need that space for little storage areas we just want little open spaces there to put stuff like phones or tape measures or keys. Buttons have no business on the center console where they are always going to get stuff spilled on them and accidentally pressed when I bump them or sit stuff on them. For the love Toyota stop putting buttons on the console and headliner. Put it on the dash like a truck.

Most likely because most truck customers today want a truck that looks, operates and drives like a car.

push button ebrake makes me want to pull out what little hair is left on the top of my head. the hand brake is litterly one of the best attributes about my 2023. Nothing better than a hand brake on boat ramps

I laid down on the ground to try to find the tow hooks and they are waaaaayyyyy up under there. Make sure you have a shovel if you plan on using those if you ever get stuck because they are going to be under about a foot of mud. Also have an front bumper cover ready to replace because you are going to rip yours off trying to use those tow hooks way up under there like that. not sure why they bothered. maybe they are just tie downs for hauling to and from dealerships. Idk

how is a hand brake any better than a electric parking brake? your not doing hand brake turns in a tacoma? also the front toe hooks are like at the exact same level as a 3rd gen..

There’s plenty of little spaces for storage in that center console. The phone charging area, the area next to the “oh shit” handle, the center console box… I bet I could fit a dozen tape measures, a dozen key rings and a dozen phones in those areas.

That reads like a good idea. Women sure do a lot to insure our enterprise is competitive. More efficient, fewer mistakes, insightful ideas, good concentration etc.... While I have a whole lot of concern about how males are doing and coach in that area, I cannot deny the importance of women if only for how well they're doing with education and skills attainment.

Hand brakes are needed if you have a manual. It isn’t needed if you have a 4x4 automatic.
