So in another thread some idiots thought it was cute to brag about feeding beer & alcohol to their dog. It's a horrible violation of the unconditional trust your companion would give you by feeding them poison. Yes it's technically a poison to humans as well (as in unhealthy) but it's even more so for dogs & cats. Your dog didn't have a rough day laying in the sun and licking his nuts so he doesn't deserve a beer. A beer doesn't make your dog help to forget his problems and feel better about his life. He needs food & water for nutrition and nourishment and to please you as his master. Where does drinking beer fall into that?

Someone brought this up in another thread and claimed it was fine and the bottom line is it's simply not. He said I didn't provide any evidence or fact when I shot down his claim that his 17yr old dog somehow proved it was safe. I had a dog that died of cancer at 8 years old that never had a drop of alcohol in her life so by his logic not drinking alcohol will kill you early and drinking it will make you live longer. Anyone with a brain in their head knows better.

Since I was accused of making shit up and having no facts or supporting information here you go....

I could post about a thousand more but I could also post a thousand links as to why cigarettes are bad for you yet there will be a select few too stupid to understand what is considered common knowledge and what should just be common sense. The difference is that choosing to smoke is your decision and giving your dog drugs and alcohol isn't a choice at all other than your poor choice as a pet parent that seriously needs to take a look at themselves if they feel they're a good pet owner yet would still choose to ignore ALL medical opinion and give their dog alcohol intentionally. Much like those who fight dogs, ignorance to reality can only go so far to help your case that at best is ignorance and at worst is intentional endangerment.

How anyone can argue this is beyond me. Some people still think life is a fraternity I guess.

I bet they would wolf down a plate of dark chocolate, grapes, bread or avocados if you left them out too. Doesn't make it safe for them & just means you need to do a better job keeping them from dangerous items. It amazes me the lengths people will take to keep poisons and dangerous items from babies yet they will leave them laying around for dogs or even offer them to them.

While this is a bad idea and I personally don't feed my dogs ANY human food and don't suggest anyone do this either it's on a different level from giving them poison knowingly which is what those who feed them booze do. You can't even make a good excuse as to why it's beneficial to the dog because it holds ZERO benefit to the dog.

Dogs/Cats will also drink anti-freeze if unattended. Children will do the same. Agree, doesn't mean it's safe.

First off, I have 5 dogs ranging form 5lb to 70lb breeds. My house is full dog proof but if you go to the bathroom for a few min he will try. Either way, you don't know me, you don't know my dogs and how they are trained, so your stupid comment is null and void.

Second, most dogs CAN eat chocolate.. If they are allergic to it then its a problem. You can test for this at the vet with blood work. Do you research.

I seem angry because of the frat bro's above you who seem to think it's cute to endanger their pets in the face of medical proof that it's bad for them. Its' disturbing and I have to question their intelligence and/or morals.

Now I know your parents told you to play in the street. Be like the rest of todays generation and blame someone else. It's the tire company's fault that dogs get killed because they chase cars.
