I have a 2013 AC TRD OR V6 auto, 68k miles, serviced religiously. Recently put new 265/75/16 BF Goodrich T/A KO2s and installed a mild 2" lift. OME 884s, rear 3 leaf springs and Bilstein 5100s all around. The PO used the truck and hunted with it. It was used but well maintained. I've only driven on the pavement the month I've had it.

When I accelerate there is kinda of a whoosh/ocean noise. The noise stays as I drive. It seems like it's coming from the rear but I know that the source of a sound can sometimes be deceiving. It doesn't seem like a wheel bearing I don't think, wouldn't that be more of a grinding sound? Would it fail this early? Truck doesn't seem to drive any different and I'm not really sure if it was making this noise before the new tires and lift (don't think it was but not 100% sure). Could it be the tires? Since those tires have lots of rubber and deep tread?

How much throttle? Could be the air injection pump.

High tide or low tide? Seriously though, any chance it sounds like wind rushing in from a broken seal somewhere?

Any amount of throttle really. I thought they fixed the air injection pump issues with the 2013s? It's not wind as I can hear it louder with the windows open. It's not a wind rushing sound.

Make sure your air filter is secure in your intake and that it's clean.

One of the connections on your air intake could be misaligned, or not connected. Let's hope the air is passing through the air filter :fingerscrossed:

    Stock intake??? Or aftermarket intake???
When wheel bearings start going bad, it will be a vibration you will feel that changes with the speed of the truck. Tires will hum also and that is also going to change with the speed of the truck.
Check all your fluid levels under the hood once your truck cools off especially the coolant level. I've had a similar sound that sounded like water pouring or gurgling and it was low on coolant.

Stock intake and I think that was the solution. I unhooked the air box and seated the back side better. I don't think it was fully seated. After that I heard the tires "gripping" when I accelerate but the whoosh seems to be gone. I will continue to monitor. Thanks for the assist TW! It seems so simple now but I've never touched the air box since I've had it. Maybe it was a noise that's been there but since I always keep the AC on and windows up I didn't notice it. And then once you notice it, it's all you hear! :D

No... more of an inside joke.

He was bashing TW for having nothing but bullshit go on here and that everyone on here are cynical assholes who derail threads.

This was a perfect example of a member with a problem that was solved in minutes.

My 2002 is making a whoosh but it comes after the popcorn noise when I accelerate, almost sounds like a diesel
