Looking for insight from anyone who runs 285/75 R17. NOT 285/70-17. NOT 285/75-16.

Trying to see if the 34 inch tire would be worth it. Not able to find much on this size. Thinking of 3 inch lift, Sema wheels, and trying to figure out what trimming I would need to do. CMC, pinch welds, etc.

    Thanks!

Falken Wildpeaks & I believe BFG K02's come in that size. Just a tad more meaty & will surely need CMC & trimming

I don't have em but others on here have posted on them tho

I keep finding 2nd gens with them, but haven’t found any 3rd gens with them. Hoping to go with 3 inch fox lift and trying to see how much trimming is required. I’d rather not trim the fenders and flares. Going with cooper st maxx

Yea a lotta 2nd Gens with HUGE tires but most of the wheel is sticking out the side of the truck.

That lift should do the trick but the main thing will be wheel choice of offset & backspacing. Tons of info on here & hopefully one of them guys will chime in here...

Hope so too. The wheels I’m using are 17x7 with 4mm offset

Geeze, my googling skills are usually pretty good too... so Im going with Sema wheels 17x7 4mm offset, and Camburg UCAs. Your post has made me feel A LOT better about this. Already dont have mudflaps, Planned on molding the fender liner with heat and CMC. Hell yeah man!

So since youre running the 34s, did you have to re gear? I had 35s on a 22re 4cyl 4runner back in the day and regeared to 5.29, and had 315s on my 80 series and regeared to 4.88. Kinda hoping I dont have to regear the taco with the newer V6 motor. Kinda the whole reason im not trying to go 315 to be honest, that and fender cutting

    Too few to list.
At 33's, the truck already feel sluggish but still ok. Main reason I keep a smaller, lighter spare set.

I gotcha. Its looking like 4-5* of caster is the ticket with the cmc to not have it rub in that area with the 34 inch tire

5.29’s and a Harrop go in next week. But I am AT and do a fair amount of mountain driving.

Yep negative offset wheels will rub more too. I have zero offset so you should be less than me. I might bend (not hammer) my pinch weld. Still need to see how much it rubs stuffed and cranked.

Nice I am AT as well, my first AT truck lol, well if you dont count the 80 series. Going to give it a go with the 285/75, sema wheels with 4 degrees offset, and stock gearing. I dont have any other weight on the vehicle.

I run sema rims 285/70/17 KO2 with a 2.5 level Bilstein 5100 in front and stock Bilstein in rear and an AAL. No rub at all. I also use thinner mud flaps.

Great! This thread is making me feel much better. I think I’m going to go fox 2.5 front and resi rear with cam burg UCAs and a full allpro leaf pack in the rear.

Those wheels just look soooo good

Hey yall, it looks like im going to be adding regearing to 4.88s to the equation so trying to cut costs. Looks like Fox coilovers and shocks are on the cutting floor.

Can anyone confirm that this setup would work with the 285/75/17 setup?

-Bilstein 6112 Front set at 2 inches
    -Bilstein 5160 Rear
    -Allpro leaf pack
    -Camburg UCA

Of course I am going to be doing an aggressive CMC and heat mold the fender liners. Im also going to shoot for 4 degrees of caster on the alignment. Just wanted to be sure this setup would work.

    Thanks!
