Same story as many. A whining pump. Many attempts to bleed. Flushed. Cleaned the res. Replaced the pump. & still the whine. So I did a little routing around & found a brake bleeder kit that comes with power steering adapters. The cup was junk, but I plugged up any leaky spots (basically all around the top & bottom of the lid) with some 101 uses for clay rope caulking. & the ps plug didn't fit because we (1st gens anyway) have the notched res cap. However I was a woman on a mission, so I used the same clay stuff & packed it on until the vacuum held its own. Set it at 15 & rotated the steering wheel 12 or so times & watched the bubbles come up through the tube. Am I going to keep the kit? I dunno. Seems kind'a priceless in one way. In another I wonder if there's something better. The cup looks to be the same as all the other kits I saw & this was the major source of complaints.
Oh, in one video I watched the guy suggested drilling a hole in an old res cap & putting in an adapter. This is a cool idea because then you can just use it with an brake bleeder kit & of course no need to Magyverette or Magyver your own seal. & if you know the seal is tight it's a great way to check for leaks.
I am happy to state that my truck is whine free as of today. Now I can hear a whistle though.... Next up, vacuum hoses.
Not sure if this should go under reviews since I'm not really reviewing this kit in particular. More so the idea of it....

So What you did was pull a vacuum on the power Steering Reservoir then did the steering wheel lock to lock a dozen times.

Let us know if the noise comes back with some driving .

All the Power Steering pumps I changed I never had issues like you seem to have getting the air out

That I had to pull a vacuum The normal front end off the ground lock to lock has always worked.

It very well be the strange newer pump you have for some reason is hard to bleed.

When I have one that wont bleed my go to trick is pull the return line, run a line to a bucket, plug the return on the red. Fill the res, turn the wheel a few times, keeping the res full obviously and once I’ve turned it 5 times lock to lock. Siphon the res out, pull the return plug, and put the return line back on. Do you use more fluid? Yes. Does it work? Has worked every time I’ve needed to do it.

Usually my trucks are fine. My Audi was the one that never bled. Lol

I am wondering now if my original pump was actually good. Course now I have dismantled it expecting to find a bearing. It had 240,000-ish on it though, so might have been time anyway. & I am having a difficult time time-lining it all, however I did replace the steering rack & not sure if this all started right after that. I would imagine though that I might have made some connection. I do know it started after that. If you check out the reviews on the kit, even though there are complaints about the cup thing, it still gets 4+-ish stars. From the ones I scanned, I think people thought it was the best thing since sliced bread after dealing with the whine for so long. & I did have to add atf after this procedure & have made sure during this whole investigation that it was on the mark. I mean obsessively. In other words, it was right at the tip top of the cold mark when I started the vacuuming experiment.
