I was looking at them in BSW and p245/75/16 for my truck they were 34 pounds would be the same weight for Defenders in that size.

The MS2, is no longer made and has been replaced by the Defender LTX M/S... while Michelin claims to make the 116T SL 265/75R16 for the Defender LTX... they actually have not produced any in the last 8 months.

Yeah i was comparing NON LT (so P / SL rated) 265/75R16's the Grabber HTS 60 is 43 lbs.

The link I posted is the online tire portal for American Tire Depot. You can have them shipped to any ADT and installed with certs. Or, if you live in SoCal, you can even pick them up at the American Tire Depot warehouse in La Mirada. I've purchased from them before.

After wearing out two sets of the Michelin LTX2 in 265/70-16 I installed the 245/75-16 Defender and found the tires were undersized for the listed size. Had them removed and installed the 265/70-16 Defenders. They are quieter than the LTX2s on concrete that has been grooved for rain/snow. Seem to ride as good or better than the LTX2s. Being relatively light weight for their size they work well with my 4 banger.

Interesting, I might have to poke my head in at the local American Tire Depot to see if they can get them.

not sure of your budget, but if its michelins then i think you can try almost anything...i know 99% of people here buy from 4-5 major brands.... i've had BFG's, Coopers, Michelins, Firestones....for the last 18k miles i've had Bridgestone Dueller new All Terrain tire...little to no road noise, no whining, wears evenly, got a full set (4) for less than $900 mounted... i don't off road like some guys on here but i do like an AT tire for its versatility, they do great in the rain, in the dry, clean out mud fairly well ( not fantastic or anything but will get the job done) in the snow they feel like they are making great contact...never slip and slide all over even with the MT...oh and they have a 65k mile warranty so thats always a plus...and no i don't rep or work for any of those companies and i know you were looking for defender specifically but can't find them i figured i'd throw out a set no one has mentioned....good luck OP

eh.... i have been burned my all of my AT tire purchases, they all of have started out great, but after 15-20k miles they get loud, start getting super slippery in anything but dry conditions, are usually heavy and usually have a lot higher rolling resistance.

For all of my driving as of late the Michelin Defender would be my top choice.

Tire Rack says that the non-LT 265/75/16 Defenders will be back in stock on 8/30. If you can't wait that long I'd check out the P265/75R16 Bridgestone A/T Revo 3. I've run both the Defenders and the Revo 2 and they're both a good tire. They've got similar road manners, noise, and tire life. I can't comment on the ice traction of either as I don't have enough miles on them in that condition to comment. I'd assume the Revo 3 will be about the same as the 2.

YAY!!! an actual date! this is news! freaking finally. I planned on replacing tires end of summer / fall at some point before the rain and snow ski season starts. So that would be awesome if they actually started producing some then. Im not gonna hold my breath.

But i figured id start this thread and get a discussion of replacements if there wasnt production of the allmighty defender in my size by then.
