So living in Vancouver, there are a few shops that work on 3rd gen Tacoma after some research I did, but I'm having a hard time picking which one to go with.

Want to do some suspension mods along with some armor upgrades
    Locally;
    Overland outfitters - Cloverdale
    Overland garage -Burnaby
    Big Country Customs - Abbotsford

An other option for me would be Krave Automotive that is located in Calgary.
Because they specialize in Tacoma and seeing their IG and Facebook feel like they have been working with a lot of 3rd gen compare to others. Tax is lower maybe the labors and parts alone will be a lot cheaper, considering the same hours and same parts but I am not sure.

Out of all these shops which one would you guys recommend?
Have you guys have experiences with anyone of them?

    Thanks !

    Hey! Welcome to TW!

I'm the owner of Overland Outfitters, so I'm a little bias haha. But we specialize in Tacomas and 4runners, that's all we work on. We can do everything from aggressive cab mount chops to cutting the suspension off and doing shock relocations etc. We do lots of bolt on suspension as well. Basically anything you'd want to do to a Tacoma, it's what we love to do, and all we do.

If you're local, definitely swing by!

I would highly recommend Overland Outfitters!
I've only dealt with them to order parts & installing the stuff myself so far, but if I were in the area, I wouldn't hesitate. Braeden & the crew are super knowledgeable + have been doing wicked work from what I've seen. Super up front with you if you aren't sure which suspension kits you'd like to dive in, they'll take the time to give you proper information and not just sell you anything they want.
Ultimately they'll get you geared up and you'll come out of there satisfied I'm sure of it.

It’s so cool to get a reply from the shop owner himself did not expect you would be on here as well tbh.

that’s cool right now I’m just deciding between you and krave. Going to pop by and get some quote from you and email krave see if the price difference.

    thank you !

As much as Krave might be a top notch shop to deal with...Would the extra money in traveling fees be worth it? Convenience of having the shop near your place seems like a bonus to me. I'd be curious to see the price difference but I doubt it would be that big? If you do end up crossing to AB, might as well bring back a few 45G drums of fuel lol

Hey no worries, I've been into Tacoma's and on TW long before I even thought to open a shop! Just passionate about it! Tacoma's specifically personally haha.

Here's the most recent big build we did. Just took a couple shots with the customer after he got his truck back. So stoked on this build.

Full JD Long travel front with King coilovers
JD LCA relocation and skid plate
Archive Garage shock relocation & hammer hangers with King rear shocks
    Deaver leaf springs
C4 Hybrid Bumper with Warn winch and Vivid lightbar
Method wheels with 35" Nitto ridge grapplers
CMC and fenders cut out to stuff 35's.
    Front/rear lockers and gear
a bunch of cool wiring stuff.

really pumped on how it turned out.

You unwilling answered one of my questions about the JD 2.25 kit! Dont need to run glass! That build is 99% what I'm planning on doing! Too bad I have to sell my current RCI skids... One question tho... How big of a deal is it to have JDs pivot relocation or can I use my stock with Marlins gussets?

JD's kit has a lot of benefits, one of which you've already solved with the Marlin gussets, which is strength. The other benefits of the JD pivot relocation is the MUCH higher clearance under the skid (about 2" more than any other skid on the market), the ability to move the wheels forward to gain caster, preserve LCA bushings (if you're running stock arms) and gain clearance at the firewall. With the LCA kit, you can get enough clearance to run 35's with no tubbing required, and just a normal cab mount chop. However, some other wheel well modifications would still be needed, more-so at the front. Some aftermarket front bumpers will need to be modified as well because the tire can hit the back corners.

With all of that said, it is not a requirement, just strongly recommended for anybody who actually wheels their truck.

    No problem.

Check out this picture, and notice where the skid plate is in relation to the LCA mounts. Then go outside and have a look at yours ;):

Can you tell me if those are 35s "skinnies" and the off set of the wheel. I imagine its part of the reason they didnt need glass fenders.

they are 315/70R17, so basically 35x12.5R17.

4.5" back space is where you want to be.

Does anyone on here have any history in dealing with WestCoast Off-roaders; they have a bunch of solid builds running around in the North Shore (North Vancouver).

But aside from Instagram, I haven’t seen much of anyone talk about them on here?

mom good to know. I wanna remove my block and put in a new leaf pack after the TRD levelling kit was installed.

I get sag once I’m loaded for travel.

Any idea what I should expect to pay; I probably need install as I don’t have my garage right now.
