I finally got around to cleaning up the look of the shift boot and now I'm stuck on which shift ball I like the best...

I like the looks of the custom knob but it is not as comfy to use as the others (maybe I just need to get used to its shape).

I've been running the TRD FJ ball for awhile so I am less excited about it but the lady says she still likes it best.

I like the sleek look/feel of the black Subaru ball but it sits a little lower.

I chopped off the white plastic on the stock knob and threw it on there for the hell of it. Surprisingly, I really like how it feels after revisiting it and it looks much better without the ring, etc.

What do you all think?? I'm torn here haha

I don't have my MT Tacoma now having back slide into a AT, but had a real American old school cool shift knob, kind of wish I could fit it on the auto selector

What do you mean? I just did lol

I don't like the shift boot coming all that up to the knob and the chrome rings looks out of place to me. Going for a more classic look

Power steering pump, Steering rack, Tie rods, Radiator cap, Thermostat, New radiator, magnets to hold the fuel door closed, new starter drum/cylinder, dash lights changed to red, replaced all carpet in the cab. Not real “mods”, but all work
I like number 1 and then number 2. I'm more into the custom vs the ones that have been in lots of other cars.
I'm planning on buying on from Bam Shifts (bamboo shifters). Trying to decide between the Bam Shifters and the Bam Balls https://www.bamshiftsstore.com/collections/bam-handles or https://www.bamshiftsstore.com/collections/bam-balls-bam-shifts

I think the TRD cue ball is nicer and throws well. I ended up making my own though out of a 25mm cannon shell. A rubber grommet can remedy the chrome ring as well, and hold it to the shifter at desired height. That’s what I’ve used at the base of my shift knob.B2B93806-25C4-4F78-A2A8-5065C3CD59C6.jpg

Yeah that's what I had before. Looks good with your setup but I thought it looked kind of weird with a ball that doesn't connect to the boot.

I agree. It grew on me though. I think it’s silly what they did with the 3rd gen knobs and boot connectors.
