You have to use the provided clips to secure them down. My drivers side sometimes moves forward a bit.

I have a set of Escape Gear cotton canvas seat covers coming from South Africa for my 2015 DC. I’ve had a set of their seat covers on my Gen 1 trucks for eight or more years — a Jeep Wrangler set, which mostly fits the Gen 1 seats. I like the comfort of cotton and they’ve worn quite well.

One can buy direct from Escape Gear or through their US distributor, Equipt in SLC, who also get them made to order.

The photo isn't the Gen 2 Tacoma seats -- just a typical image of their work.

Interesting. Hubbs is from SA but hadn't heard of that brand; he's from Durban.

I ended up pulling trigger on Carhartt Precision Fit. We'll see how they work out. I had a 20% off coupon code.

    Cheers

Not a lot of good options for bench seats... Any recommendations besides wet Okole? Really like them but man that's a lot of money for covers.

The wet okole's looked great but worried the neoprene would retain too much heat.

I ended up going with Carhartt precision fit from auto anything - they were have a 20% off labor day sale.

The escape gear cotton canvas were very tempting. I was swayed by brand loyalty...

    Take a look at headwatersseatcovers.com
Have had a set for five years and show no wear, completely custom made of American made materials by a family owned and run business in Montana. Numerous options for various pocket styles and locations, etc. No affiliation with them, just a quality product and they were a pleasure to deal with. Ordered online and prior to being made they called me to verify all my options and discuss the covers. Highly recommended.

Please please please post your pictures bro, I’m wanting them or Marathon canvas for my 2015 Taco as well. My base model has no lumbar and the fold flat pass seat so fitment gets tricky on the pass seat!

Yes, I'll post photos, @Greenbean, but the covers aren't here yet (they're probably being made right now) and then it'll take some time to get them installed along with other interior work on my 2015.

I've been in discussion with Escape Gear about creating this pattern for Gen 2 seats for a year and a half, sending them a bunch of pix of my seats when we were seeing how close existing Hilux patterns might be to working. (I have a set of 2008-2011 Hilux pattern covers that don't fit well the seat tops or headrests on our Tacomas. The Hilux covers may replace the old Wrangler covers on my Gen 1 truck.) Escape Gear had a chance to take digital interior 3D scans of a Gen 2 Tacoma when they were visiting Paul May at Equipt a year ago, so I expect the new patterns will fit well.

I don't know that they looked at the base model fold-forward passenger seat, though. Might be only for fixed-back like my TRD OR. But knowing how Escape Gear seat covers fit, there's a good chance it'll pivot forward even if it wasn't in the original planning.

I hesitate to show these photos, because they might give the wrong impression of how Escape Gear seat covers fit. Please note: These the WRONG Hilux covers fitted loosely on my Tacoma! The RIGHT ones will fit great, I'm sure.

Here are the wrong Hilux covers partially test-fitted to my 2015 Tacoma TRD OR. The general fit isn't bad, especially as the Hilux covers weren't tightened in position for these pix. But you'll see the Hilux headrest covers and the tops of the seat backs are significantly different. All that will be right for the Tacoma-specific pattern.

I wonder how it works since they are right hand drive vehicles over there... like with options like lumbar support, etc.

Right hand steer or left hand steer is one of the things one specifies when ordering. Escape Gear supply markets worldwide with drive on both sides. You can see the "LHD" production notes on the backside of one of my Hilux (THX11) covers.

Wow, some really nice heavy duty seat covers folks! Hard to believe I finally bought some cheapies after owning my 2012 almost 9 years. Bought these Motor Trend AquaShield Neoprene "and supposedly" waterproof? Amazon and under $25. Plus they match my interior. Fall/winter hunting season will be the judge on longevity of these seat covers that fit well.

Kirky: I've owned these seat covers only a month now. Kind of hard to judge them as of yet. I only drive my truck maybe 2-3 times a week on short trips to work and back. But on a better note I start bow hunting next weekend until February 2021! Then I can give some honest feedback. But so far not complaints...... Thx for asking.

I bought some $30 polyester seat covers from Pepboys. They lasted 6 years. Sorry but those spendy brands can’t beat that value.
