Can anyone recommend which offset I should choose for 18x9 wheels on 285/65/18 tires.
    -12mm or +1mm.
My primary concern is rubbing and negative effects. Thanks.

I have a 2” lift. The 0 offset (4.5 backspacing) gave me minimal rubbing. After a small amount of CMC, no more rubbing. Running 285/75R16 (33s).

Normally aftermarket UCAs recommends no more than 4.5 backspacing or it’ll rub the UCA. If you have too little of backspacing, it’ll rub your fenders or cab mount.

Like I said I’m 16 (normally 16 is 8 in wide) so a 0 offset would be 4.5 backspacing for me (which is why I don’t like using offsets and just use backspacing to compare).

The problem with something greater than 4.5” of backspacing is not the wheel itself, it’s that aftermarket UCA you have. If it beefier and sticks out a bit more than stock (which should since that’s why people go aftermarket on em), then you will rub on it when suspension compresses.

So basically, I can't even use the +1mm is what I suspected but had mixed opinions from others. Do you have anything bad to say about -12offset on 18x9 wheel?

I have nothing bad on 4.5” backspacing (-12 offset for you). Actually, with that backspacing, I think you will have a better stance since the tires will stick out a bit more (about half an inch).

If you really like the +1 though, I would call the company that made your uca and ask for the recommended backspacing. They should have it if it’s a reputable company.

I personally like it when tires stick out a bit more (not too much). Makes the truck look meaner.

    I
Actually wanted the -12mm back spacing for the stance. Just wanted to make sure everything is done "right" for my first lift. Thank you.

    Yup no problem!
Just to warn you since I don’t know what suspension you are planning to get.

My advise was for a standard travel suspension. If you decide to go extended travel, you will run into more problems that needs adjusting.

Do you know if that is extended or standard?

Normally King’s kits have the option of choosing one.

PS: I am jelly =| I want ADS or Kings so bad, but I already have the 2nd gen Pro that went on a great sale and low on funds since I got bumper, winch, roof top tent, and custom fabricated bed bars on the way.

I'll be saving a while before any more mods! Only mod I have right now is a light bar grille. Post pics when yours is set up!
