Which hose is this? I am getting a weird noise (mostly on idle but not always). It seemed to be coming roughly from this area and I noticed it came off SUPER easy and had some dirt/slimy residue on it.

This diagram doesn't really say much, but it shows the hose in the upper diagram

Let me look on mine and see where it goes to. You have the 3.4, right?

It seems to me that it’s a vacuum line to/from the right hand cylinder head.

Ive replaced a couple vacuum lines recently (visibly cracked at the ends) but this one is soft (maybe too soft) and if anything too loose. Maybe this one due to heat softened up and when replaced will make the noise go away. I am not getting any codes

my hose was kinda soft, but still rigid. I would recommend a new hose, but at the same time, our definitions of soft can be different. However, if it is craked, you have a vacuum leak, hence the noise, and the residue, which I presume is oil.

I can squeeze it easily with my fingers and it bends whereas most of the vaccuum hoses Ive replaced and purchased lately have been pretty stiff (old ones REALLY stiff)

Ah yea. that is pretty soft then. @Wsidr1 is correct, too. Here's a list of pcv locations.

UPDATE: Went to the dealership and got a PCV valve, grommet and the hose for like $40. Kind of painful knowing I could probably get this for like 10 or 15 at autozone but I also believe the reason why the hose went bad in the first place is because it clearly wasn't the right one for the application. The new one has a smaller interior diameter and exterior diameter as well as a much different material. I haven't got around to the PCV and grommet part of the install but I did swap hoses at the dealerships parking lot and the noise is gone. I'll put in the PCV and grommet later today.

Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction. I love doing my own work with quality parts while saving money

That is the PCV valve and hose.

Be super careful when you replace the grommet. It's usually recommended to do that when doing a valve cover gasket job. But the old grommet will be very brittle and prone to breaking and falling into the valve cover. It doesn't fall directly into the valve train, as there is a baffle under the grommet in the cover, but it's still problematic. My suggestion is to use a box knife to cut a vertical slice in the old grommet and then try to pry it out, hoping that the vertical slice allows the grommet to deform enough without breaking.

Pro tip- clean out your shop vac before you do this. If you have to vacuum out broken bits that fell down into the valve cover, you'll want to know that you got them out. It's a lot easier to confirm it all ended up in the vacuum with it empty.

Change your air filter, bet it has whatever was in that hose all over it.

If you can, I would look into your plenum to see if there's any residue in there.

I got the same hose yesterday at AZ and it was $30 and they had to order it and took 3 days to get it. What it caused was still a mystery as hose was completely dry rotted and split when I tried to cut it off, so I used a section of regular vacuum hose temporarily and somehow lost about 4 MPG driving from Ga. To NC and back and the only thing that was different was the PCV hose.
