Here's why I think it pays for itself. The valve gives it perfect no-splatter aim through the skid plate. Hose attachment isn't even needed.

My wife wishes I had one of these for the bathroom.

Correct. The drain tube isn’t “needed” but I use the tube to drain it directly into a jug, the very jug I use to transfer it to a dump station. I also don’t have to clean the pan like the one you are using.

What skid plate is that on your truck? I have a knock off copy of the TRD skid. Did you have to remove the plate to install it?
I see you have the one with out the nipple. I'm actually interested in the short nipple or none.

I had a Fumoto valve on my old Jeep Liberty CRD for over 12 years and never had an issue with it. It was highly recommended for that engine as it had an aluminum oil pan that had potential to be easy to damage. It's a no Brainer for vehicles like that. But I'm on the fence about it on the Tacoma. Having the oil drain in to a neat stream would be idea though.

I would remove the skid to install it for the opportunity to not dump on the skid even one last time, or clean the top surface. Without a skid, the long nipple can be at risk. With a skid you have bigger problems than the nipple if it is damaged. Short/long/no nipple is your call in your case.

I also have the Lostar knockoff TRD skid. I installed the valve with it off (I did it backwards, I bought the valve and then immediately realized it should be covered).:anonymous:

It should be possible to be able to reach around the skid with a box wrench to install the valve. I reach through the side to open/close the valve when changing oil anyway.

Another question so I'm coming up on 30,000 and probably want to change my dif and transfer case oils. I'm guessing I probably would have to remove the skid plate the get to the front dif. Is that accurate? If so I could use that time to do it.

Yes, front plate removed for front differential. Yes, you can change the oil early to use the opportunity ... nothing stopping you from that. Or maybe wait a couple thousand more on the front differential for the oil. Differential interval is longer and based on 4WD use.

I mostly only use 4WD in winter months. I don't really go 4 wheeling anymore so I could wait on that. I am trying to keep this truck till I die if possible though

Just for giggles, use 4Hi at least 10 miles a month. Find an excuse to use a forest road during the dry months. Keeps the gears fro seizing up from lack of use.

I try to go in to 4hi for a bit on straight stretches of roads for a few minutes every few weeks just to keep it lubed some.
Unfortunately I don't have a lot of Forrest roads near me that are open to the public. I have to figure out how to find some.

Rainy roads will provide enough slip so that the transfer case are not stressed. If dry roads, straight to limit turning stress.

You have no clue. I have had the same valve on too Tacoma's 07 and 21 for over 13 years total. No leak yet. Troll Fail.

Had one of these on my last vehicle that had an easily damaged aluminum oil pan. I never had an issue with it in 12 years. It never leaked never got damaged going off road. It ment I hardly needed any tools to change the oil. It made it cleaner as the oil comes out in a very predictable stream.
You can also take an oil sample at anytime or in the event the oil is over filled drain some out.
I can see the objections to it like it could open accidentally but I had it on my Jeep for 130,000 miles and sold it with on so its probably still there with no issues. If you decide it's not for you that's cool too.

I've got a question for some of you. I installed the f133n and it seemed to go in much harder than the original oil plug. I made sure to torque it to 30FP as per toyota and other sources, but it has me thinking that the original drain plug will not properly fit. I even turned the valve counter clockwise to ensure I wasn't accidently cross threading it. When removing the original plug, as I expected, it only needed broken loose and I backed out out by hand after and it seemed to have excellent threads, but the fumoto f133 I put in just seemed much harder to thread into the pan than I thought it should. Either way I don't need to worry as I'll just replace it with another f133 if I need to.

I installed mine using "hand tight, 1/4 turn more with a wrench" and had no leaking in 10000 miles. It is easy to check if it leaks so I will go with what works now until black pools appear under the truck.
