Neither Autozone nor Pepboys stock Denso plugs.

O'Reilly has Denso Iridium for $9 per plug, or the double platinum version for $8. Which one most closely matches the original plugs?

Thanks, but my question was WHICH Denso plug was most like the original plugs: the Iridium or the Double Platinum.

Either. You can just get the platinums and replace them every 10000 miles, or get the iridiums that cost twice as much and replace them every 20000 miles.

For the record i swear by NGK V-power's. BKREYA-11

I did some digging on my own and found out what the dealer uses on the 2.4. Their plugs come in red boxes with Toyota logo but the labels say SK16R11 IRIDIUM and the plugs say Denso, not Toyota. So these are the OEM plugs and/or the plugs the dealer replaces the OEMs with.

BTW, both Advance Auto Parts and Rock Auto Parts agree that the Denso SK16R11 Iridium is a perfect replacement for Tacoma 2.4L, and should be gapped at .044

Rick must have a special relationship with his dealer....$2 per plug is a bargain. Not sure how much they go for at my dealer but he quoted me $119 for THEM to replace my plugs! I kindly declined his most generous offer.

    standard 1 hour of labor = $90 + $29 for plugs :D

save $90 and do yourself in 30 minutes. I just changed mine tonight in about 45. had to run and get the right socket.

NGK is claiming they're the original supplier with the ifr5t11 4996 plug. The denso equivalents would be the IK16 or IK16TT. All are iridium. IK16tt I think is the premium Iridium design. there are 2 lines of iridium plugs you can choose from. cheap one are around 5 bucks a piece where the premiums are around 11

don't go with platinums. they're inferior and naturally have more resistance.
