I can't decide which bed rack I want and could use some input from anyone that has experience with one or both. The cost is close enough between them that it isn't a concern.

1.) I live in Virginia where it's humid and we salt, making aluminum attractive, but not necessarily a requirement.
2.) I have a hard shell RTT, but between the fear of the bed flexing and possibly replacing it with a tent with a smaller rack footprint, I don't think having a rack that can cover the entire 84 inches a requirements. I'm also fine with hanging it off the back a foot or two.

The only different between these two the height, cab vs. roof rack. They're both made of steel and come in under 70 pounds. They roof rack height of this model is their best seller, between the three.

This only comes in cab height. Available in aluminum. Heavier than the racks above.

I'm not married to getting CBI if there is a clear-cut (or as close as clear-cut exists) better product out there. They're just a brand I'm familiar with and trust from my 4Runner.

We run the CBI Bed Rack. It's low profile that our RTT sits somewhat even with the roof line. Maybe more aerodynamic? It's lighter as well. I've added a few modifications to it to hold a 2 gallton RotoPax with delux locking mount on the side. Traction boards don't really fit on the side very well with the RTT up there. Overall, I like it BUT.... Kinda want a taller bed rack with more room to put stuff however that's just because I think it looks cool to have crap hanging off the bed rack. :) So it's not really a necessity. For now, we're making it work though. I would buy it again. CBI is definitely a good product.

Thanks for the reply! That product looks different than the ones I was looking at on their website... are those the bed rails?

Yea, sorry I called them "Bed Rack" in my response. These are the CBI Bed Bars. Quick and easy to remove and re-install. Though I just leave mine in all the time.

RCI and C4 both make far superior ones. CBI is a terrible company with a great product. You will wait double to triple your quoted lead time minimum unless you luck out and someone cancels their order. I have personally never ordered from them because I lucked out and found the reviews first. Avoid them at all costs. Also their are numerous accounts on here about their $200 powder coat option peeling and rusting.

They're all hype and not much else compared to other alternatives. Look up the thread "CBI: customer battles for product" for some examples of their business practices. Hell scroll the comments on their Instagram and their are always one or two people asking where their stuffs at. Super shady company. Not sure the last time you ordered from them but the negative reviews have really picked up steam in the last 3 years. The more review sites you go to the more truth you'll discover about how they run their company.

I think the superior bedrack for strength are the ones that mount to the inside of the bed, like the brute force bed cage/rack. I owned a CBI bedrack, and customer service issues aside, the product was ok. I dont think Id value it at anywhere near what they charge for them.
