    High All,

I am aware of the hundreds of threads on Tacoma wheels; but after weeks of intensive forays into these threads, I realized that the more research I did, the more elusive my final decision became. It's like being in a quick sand; the more I wiggled, the deeper I sank.

As a result, I am not close a decisive decision on the brand of 16x8 rims to purchase for my 2015 Prerunner V6. So bear with me.

Currently, my truck runs 265/65R17 BFG All Terrain tires on Ultra 17x8 rims (the so-called Texas Edition rims) that I am not a fan of and would like to downgrade to 16x8 rims and upgrade to 265/75R16 BFG KO2s to give me more rubber(side wall) for a smoother ride.

By the way, I have ordered an OME lift package - 885/900021/Nitro Sport & Full Dakar in the rear.

    Here are my rim specs:
    Size: 16x8
    Offset: 0
    Backspace: 4.5
    Center Bore: 106.1

In other words, I am looking for a hub-centric wheel. Below are some of the hub-centric rims I have looked at so far:

    1) Fuel Covert D694
    2) Fuel Blitz D675
    3) XD Series XD127
    4) KMC KM717
    5) Method MR301 The Standard
    6) Method MR305 NV
    7) Mickey Thompson Classic III Black
    8) Mickey Thompson Sidebiter II

My goal is to draw on your experience and expertise on the best brand in terms of durability, performance, fit, quality of finish and, superficially, good looks.

I am not limiting myself to the brands/products above and will be appreciative if you could offer your suggestions outside this box.

    Thanks.

Actually I believe the Texas Edition where are 17x7 if I remember correctly. At least the ones that came on mine were. Remember with the 16x8 wheel depending on the offset there might be a caliper clearance issue. You could also go to a 265/70/17.

    SCS.

These wheels are made specifically for Toyota trucks, and they're actually lighter than the stock wheels. Without looking at specs, I would be willing to bet all the wheels you listed, are significantly heavier than stock. Not to mention, they are some of the coolest looking wheels as well.

It's good to sample opinions and experiences on Tacoma World. At the start of my research I was looking at SCS's rims because they look simple, stunning, beautiful and well-made. My eyes were on the Ray10 Matte Gun Metal; but for the 16" rims they only have -12mm offset and 4.0 BS. I don't want the wheels sticking too much outward beyond the fenders.

The F5 looks good too and has the specs I want. So it's on top of the list at the moment.

Thanks. Do you know the lead time for the F5s and the cost of each rim? Also, what's the measurement of the center bore? Will I be correct if I say SCS's rims are hub-centric?

Oh! I just found they are hub-centric from SCS's website.

Interesting, my truck is a 2015 Prerunner V6 with a Blue Ribbon Metalic color just like yours with a chrome grille surround and a chrome bumper.

Do you have a 16" rim? Which tire size are you running? Do you have any rubbing? If so, where.

I am assuming these are the specs for your Ray10:

    upload_2020-3-23_14-27-47.jpg

    A -12 offset and 4.00 BS Right?

FN makes a few hub centric models for our trucks. They’re light weight and inexpensive.

simple styling too. I’m not a fan of the bedazzled fake beadlock look of many aftermarket wheels these days.

One final question. Did you install any lift? If yes, did you install the 265/76R16 tires before or after the lift?

    np happy to help

i had a small spacer lift up front (1.5 or 2"? block) when i got the tire/wheel setup, switched that soon after to 6112(3rd notch)/5160's and general spring HD's in back, about a 1.5" lift all around
