Just to get a head start, I might need a head. If I do need a head, due to a crack, I will replace both. Will know within 1-2 weeks. I have tried YOTA1, but they do not have any (just want OEM ones). They might get some in a month or so. I tried Yota Shop, they do not have any. I did find them via American Modern Engine for around $900 shipped for the pair. They are 10 days out when ordered.

Source them local have them done local.

To me having a good local Engine Machine shop always works out.

I saw some used ones.....I have had good luck on ebay, just make sure you buy from someone with a really good rating.

What is your postal code I can search salvage yards for you.

To many times I got burned on poor quality head work .

Then added shipping to the mix. The shipper was the only company making money in the end.

How does a set of heads get lost in transit?

I learned dealing face to face works best for me with engine work.

    Good luck!

Exactly why I wanted to help the OP find some used ones to get refurbished. I ordered a set of refurbished heads off ebay from a highly reputable seller. Fed Ex delivered them, they sat for about three months before I went to install them, and one was cracked along the valve cover area from being dropped during shipping (the box was shredded too).
Too much time had passed and I had no recourse from Fed Ex. Shame on me for not inspecting them right away, (like when the Fed Ex driver was still waiting for me to sign). I contacted the ebay seller just to let them know Fed Ex were a bunch of hacks, they felt bad and offered to sell me another head @ 25% off even though it wasn't his fault.

Depending on location of head, a top welder could fix crack if there is one?

It was fixable, but I wasn't going to put a repaired head on my friends truck. I ended up giving them away on craigslist.

till i charge to weld an Aluminum Head then add the cost to machine the head where welded .

it really is not cost effective on a street engine .

On a heads where the head work costs thousands of dollars different story.

I don`t miss those drag racing days.

I saw them too, but when you do a review, they have bad takes from others. The problems with reviews are, are they really legit. That's the problem

Interesting. I never saw any reviews on their website? Take those reviews with a grain of salt. It’s easier for people to leave a bad review than a good one. That being said, it is a pretty major component so I understand being weary about it. Where did you find those reviews? Yelp?
All I can say is that they’ve been working well for me so far and were helpful over the phone with me when ordering. They also come with a 1 year warranty. They do require a core return.

    I bought a set from https://www.cylinder-heads.com/

I got some reman OEM instead of the new chinese castings. Installed about a year ago I'd guess, all is well with the heads. Only complaint is the shims were not quite correct. I measured clearance on all the valves prior to installation and found some to be out of spec. I ordered new shims to correct the issue.

Had great experience with Dover Cylinder Heads in Greenville SC on my 3.4 last summer. They were super clean and my old engine runs great now!

Never fails when one wants a set of ready to install anything .

Nothing to be found everyone weeks or months out .

It seems to one needs to sneak up on these things.

The other day all my 14mm wrenches were off hiding with the 10mm sockets .

Keep up the Hunt !! Good luck!!
