I had my car stereo installer install the Bluetooth mic installed behind the rear view mirror bracket.

Mine is wired in. The installer ran it under the brackets for a clean install. I'm happy with it as it's my 1st car stereo with Bluetooth/navigation/DVD & CD player.

Cool. So did they run it up and behind the pillar and then through the roof? Not sure what brackets you mean.

I did put my mike on the place I thought would be the best reception during the drive. So far no complains at all. And because it was near the radio the installation was super easy. Double sticky tape mount.

I put mine in the top left corner of the windshield with the wire hidden in the A-Pillar trim. It is inconspicuous and I've had no complaints from callers on the other end of the line. In fact, they had no idea I was calling from the truck.

I've also seen installs in the map light cover.

+1, I had the gauges out to replace some dead bulbs anyway. Its nice here, out of hte way, doesn't get bumped, discrete, you barely notice its there. No complaints on audio either.

And because I have grey trim it matches the color perfectly

I put it on top of the column. No regrets. Never notice it and audio quality is great.

Steering column. On top of it between the steering wheel and the gauge cluster similar to other posters above
