Hello TW, just put on my spline lugnuts on my taco and curious as to where everyone puts the keys for their lugs, Inside or outside the vehicle? Don't feel like putting it inside the vehicle due to my buddy once had his taco stolen and they stole his wheel setup. Curious to where is a safe place to hide it.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Glove box also. You want it with the vehicle in case you get a flat. If mine is ever stolen I think wheels are the least of my concern.

If they steal the vehicle, they are going to take the rims off no matter what, there's lots of key sets for oem and aftermarket rims.

Save the headache and keep it in the glove box or spare tire kit so that others can find it. (someone borrows the truck or a shop working on the truck)

I keep mine in the glove box and if I'm getting any work done like a tire rotation or wheel balancing I keep it in the cup holder for the mechanic.

I keep it with the Lug Wrench/Tools under the rear seat. Discount Tire knew to look for it there the one time I forgot, which was nice.

Armrest storage bin. Anyone else replace the lug locks with OEM lugs when camping or off-roading or certain long trips? I will remove the locks on certain trips if I'm going to be with the truck most of the time - helps replace a flat easier and quicker. I have OEM alum wheels; so, the small risk of losing them is worth the trade-off.

Wheel locks are a waste of money and will just cause you more grief than anything else. And. It to mention it drives your mechanic nuts. That's my number 1 pet peeve is when I go to take somebodys wheels off and the lock key is nowhere to be found. If a thief wants your wheels bad enough he is going to get them

Take the wheels locks off and return them. NO ONE is going to steal just your fucking wheels and tires. They'll steal the whole truck first.

wheel locks are the devil. You wouldn't believe how many people come in with wheel locks and we search the car looking for the fucking key and it's nowhere to be found so we ask the customer where it is and they say "what's that?" Nothing makes me want to strangle somebody more than a missing wheel lock key. If your not responsible enough to know where it is and keep it in the glove box then take them off. And another thing is when I see them on shitty old minivans. No thief is going to steal your wheels off your 25 year old minivan with steel wheels.

Yeah make it more of a pain in the ass for the mechanic to find it.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
I just put mine in the little cubby on the left next to your knee.

If they have the key, that means they broke my window and I have bigger issues than a set of stolen stock steel wheels.
