I recently bought a Wolfbox G900 and I am trying to figure out where I should mount the rear facing camera.

I've been thinking inside the canopy on the window, but I'm not sure how the wiring will hang in there. Looking outside, I see some people mount it just above the licence plate below the tailgate, but that seems like it is too low to get a good picture of what is behind you. I've also heard about custom lenses for canopies, but I haven't seen one for my Snugtop.

I've also seen the factory camera replaced, but I want to keep that one where it is so I can see the bumper when backing up.

    Any suggestions? Pictures are better!

    Thanks,

    Scott

I can post one tomorrow, but it's just a Snugtop canopy. Nothing out of the ordinary.

I mounted it inside the canopy. The tint does affect it a little, but not too much. If it's drizzling out, the image stinks. I tried Rain X, but I find it hasn't made much of a difference. Lots of noise at night in rural areas, but great image if there's ambient light from street lights or other cars. I can't really use the driver's side sun visor either because of the design of the mirror/monitor, but that's what sun glasses are for!

Overall I'm happy with it and where is mounted.

If you have insulation on the roof of the cap, Velcro hook-end strips does a good job holding a cable onto the ceiling. Also stick the rear camera on the upper part of the rear window near the hinges- use 3M extreme tape because it holds up well to heat and your tinted rear glass door gets really hot from the sun.
