I got a scan gauge II about a month ago because I tow and want to monitor my transmission temp. So far I like the gauge, does everything I want and more.

Now to my question, where does everyone mount there scan gauge? I put it on top of the steering column right in front of the gauge cluster but it kind of blocks the lower part of the cluster. So I can't see if my cruise light is on or if my low oil press light would come on. (I know it's a Toyota, shouldn't have to worry about oil press. LOL) I have to sit up and look over the scan gauge to see the lower part of the cluster.

Where do you mount your scan gauge??

Thanks tomwil.... Now I feel dumb, I guess I could have done a search too! Anyway that is exactly the info I was looking for. I may try to mount above the rear view mirror like in a couple of the threads. Thanks again

Please don't feel dumb. You're new, and it takes a while to get experienced in using the TW search engine.

I used heavy duty Velcro and stuck my Scan Guage on top of the rear view mirror. The wiring is run under the edge of the headliner, super easy to do.

I did mine in my drop down sunglass holder. Never use the holders so drilled i small hole for wire to pass through, ran wire in headliner and down A Pillar. This way when you dont want to see it you close your holder, when you want to see it you flip it down.

I velcroed mine to the top of the steering column in front of the gauges. Easy to get wire ran to obdII port, easy to see and monitor gauges.

    A few things
Double sided tape on top of the steering column up against the gauge cluster.

Bottom left corner of the windshield.

Have to move it annually to replace the sticker, but otherwise a great location.

Thanks for all the tips... I went out this morning and velcroed it to the top of my rear view mirror. Ran the wire under the headliner along the windshield and down the A-piller under the cover with the grab handle. Super easy to do, just removed 2 screws that holds the grab handle and the cover comes right off. Ran the cable under the dash to the OBDII connector. Probably took 20 minutes tops!!

I would have never thought of doing this without the help of this forum.
