It never fails, either if I take my Tacoma to a dealer or independent shop, whenever I get it back the tires are always overinflated. This time around I tried to stress that the tires only need 30 psi and didn't need anymore air. But sure enough when I got it back they filled it close to 35 psi.

Anyways when I was airing down my tires, I noticed that one of the caps separated from the rubber sleeve part. Can't say for sure if the shop did it or if it was bound to happen if it wasn't already like that beforehand. But I can't seem to find the exact replacement online.

I either come up with this when trying to search for OEM:
    https://parts.toyota.com/p/Toyota__...TIRE-VALVE-FOR-SPARE/62976003/90942A5002.html

    Or some aftermarket ones.

Does anyone know where I can find the original ones or the part number for it? A pic of the one I have is attached.

btw, I know it's just a tire valve cap and I can just replace it with a cheap plastic one. But I kind of like the look and feel of them. So wanted to try to get another original one. I'll probably try to stop by the dealer later this week or next week to see if they have any.

    Thanks in advance.

Go to a tire shop. They will have high quality metal caps that they should be able to sell you. Might not be identical to the factory caps, but will look very similar. Replace all 4, and you will quickly forget they aren't factory.

Your picture is not an OEM cap. The OEM are plastic, and for good reason, the metal ones have a history of corroding onto the TPMS sensors.

Yep, that fancy mancy knurled metal thingy pictured isn't OEM.
If you can pull it off with a straight face, (and given this post, I'm guessing you can) visit you local Toyota dealer's parts counter and ask for a valve stem cap.
Tell the parts guy you don't want to void any warranties..

    Thanks all.

That's funny that it's not OEM. I always thought that the caps looked like they were on the nicer side and thought it was just an example of Toyota doing a little bit of extra.

I had a spare plastic cap laying around and it doesn't look that bad. So guess I can live with it.

    Thanks again!

You do not want a metal cap... you want plastic. Why? Because unlike metals will corrode and it will become stuck. You can thank me later. Plastic for the win.

I have those exact caps. Got them at Advance Auto (obviously not OEM). The inside of the cap is actually plastic, and it's covered by a metal shell. These come in chrome, black, gun metal and other colors.

I mean, you could dab on a little anti-seize if you were dead set on using metal caps. I'll stick with my cheap plastic ones though.

If you live in a wet or snowy/salted area, do not use metal caps. They can corrode and fuse to the stem threads. Seen it happen a few times to friends. Just spend 2 bucks at AutoZone and buy some plastic caps.

Pretty sure they leave them on all the cars in the lot because they want you to take them for free.

Ya know, like the TVs in hotel rooms.
