I recently purchased a Habitat from adventure trailers. I chose the bone stock model with no windows as I want to do all of my own upgrades to it...

Anyone know where I can buy some "windoors" or flip up windows like you see on the sides of some camper shells?

I am keeping an eye on craigslist for a used shell with them for cheap but nothing has come up and couldnt find any online.

I will be using some RV type hatches as well, but need a couple windoors for sides.

I was able to find entire assemblies online, but they were around $500 IIRC. That's almost double what I paid for my cap!

Yea no way im paying over a couple hundred each... I think the best route will be to watch for a used shell but was wondering what was out there.

I'm on the lookout as well, even if it's just for a single windoor. It'll make my life a whole lot easier.

may I ask why you want the windoor? Im in the market and have been told for camping they are really handy. Im sure I can live without considering the cost to add to a new shell but curious to know others experience in this. I have heard on a few occasions people wishing they had on both sides after purchasing for just the one...

There is a place called Wynne Industries in Georgia or Alabama. Manufacturer of windows n such for campers and the like.

They may have something like what your looking for.....maybe.

Not many people try to actually sell old shells unless they are in excellent shape. Check junk yards. Many car dealers take old shells off and store them behind the shop until they take them to the dump. You should be able to find some practically free.

Is it bad I want these just because they look cool? I mean, I am sure they add a lot of functionality over what I have now on my shell, but that's not why I want them

Sure! My truck is solely meant for camping and wheeling, so I built the rear as such. I have a platform for tools/spare tire, and all my gear on top in totes to keep it somewhat organized. The truck is fairly "new" so I'm learning and tweaking stuff as I go. There's been quite a few occasions where I'd love to get something from the front while it's all loaded up, and a windoor would solve this.

Really makes packing/unpacking while camping easier for me

Just looked them up, they don't specifically make a windoor but do have some cool stuff... I bet its expensive though, says custom built to order and "call for pricing"

Huh, maybe ill swing by the auto wreckers and see what they have.

Caravan Campers might be willing to order them in for you, no idea on the pricing though. Probably more than a couple hundred bucks a side. They're local if you're still in Reno:

    Prices from them:

    Windoor = 300$
Drop down front window = 200$

That's really not too bad for a windoor.

Those prices might be for them to install on a topper they're selling. Probably won't be the same if you are ordering separately. I'd give them a call or stop by if you're in the area

True, that is installed... Ill definitley be keeping them in mind.

Either way Adventure trailers charges 360$ for each side "slider" window so these would be cheaper and I will get a windoor not just a slider.

Never removed or installed one of these but im assuming they are a pretty universal fit to a flat surface

I've removed mine before to install screen. It was extremely easy. It's just a bunch of small screws on the inside that come undone.

Does the frame sandwich the topper between two pieces of metal or is the frame one sided (if that makes sense)

It makes sense, and it's a sandwich. The screws are what holds the two halves together. At least that's how my cap is
