I am looking to hardwire my dash cam so it is tapped into an always on fuse. I am looking for the always on fuse that is in the truck driver side. It will not kill the battery and it is used basically so if my BlackVue feels motion etc it will kick on and record.

Taillights or just grab a multimeter and go through the fuses

Just steal power from the rear view mirror. There is an inline harness with a USB plug built in. Homelink always has power.

Why not just go straight to battery and add an inline fuse?

I think he wants constant power incase someone hits his car and the camera can power on when it senses it. Like sentry mode so it needs a always hot line.

Not sure why I did not just think of doing that to be honest.

I use it with my DR590w-2ch. It runs park mode all night, and if the batt dips too low it shuts off.

With an access cab you have battery (hot) circuits in the cab fuse panel that are not used. More things to go wrong by running a wire through the firewall for a simple system.

Awesome idea! I'm in. Question: is there a similar system that is activated by the motion of someone that may be walking around the vehicle in close proximity? I park on a boat ramp overnight while I night fish and I'd love to be able to Id any burglars. Methheads are always casing the place.
