Under the airbox & under the battery tray. Look for the yellow wire loom.

Thanks for the info zero4. That’s something I believe I can find and check out whether it’s functioning or not. Jimmy

Does your horn work? If not it could be the clock spring.

Everything works except that the airbag light has been on for the past 18 months or more. It came back on after the local Toyota place replaced the passenger air bag after the airbag light came on. Now they say they need to replace the “middle airbag”! It’s a 2 seater extended cab. I have a feeling they’re trying to rip me off. I looked underneath the drivers seat yesterday and there’s a wire there with the connection completely covered with black electrical tape. I’m going to remove the tape androids check that connection. I’ll post my results. Thanks, Jimmy

I have been having an air bag light issue as well for several months on my 02DC. I can clear the code with a scanner and it may stay off anywhere from a few hours to a couple weeks, but once its on it stays on until it is cleared again. The Code is B0103: Short in D Squib Circuit ( to +B). From time to time I also get P0750: Shift solenoid A and P0755: Shift solenoid B. I thought they may have been related somehow to a faulty battery or bad alternator but checked everything today with a meter and everything seemed to be fine.

You might be looking for the airbag cpu? I bought my truck a year and a half ago and was trying to chase down the airbag light issue, eventually got sick of replacing one part at a time and found a junk truck that matches my airbag components. Grabbed every airbag component from it. Turned out it was my airbag cpu that was bad. The airbag CPU lives in the center dash, right behind the power plugs. There should be a push screw on both sides of the trim, and then you can pull it up and out. If you're going to replace it, make sure you a buy a CPU that matches yours, it seems there are many iterations of this module year by year.

Jimmy replies from previous posts. I bought a Bluetooth scanner and the airbag on light won’t clear. I get 2 codes:
    1. B0133
    2. B1100
It says Middle Airbag Sensor Assembly and Middle Airbag Sensor Assembly Connector.
I took the electrical tape off the connection under my drivers seat and the connection locks together tightly. I can’t find anything but a Front Sensor assembly online. What to do? Thanks so much for your help. Jimmy

I get B0133 and B1100. My O2DC Reader won’t clear the airbag light. Thanks, Jimmy

Sounds like it's the airbag CPU module, I explained where to find it in my previous post.

I received a reply as to where the sensor was from zero_4:
Under the airbox & under the battery tray. Look for the yellow wire loom.
You say: The airbag CPU lives in the center dash, right behind the power plugs
The code says it’s the Sensor Assembly without mention of the CPU. Are they different?

    A few things...

While your reader MIGHT give you codes for the SRS system, I wouldn't trust them. The FSM describes a different method to access diagnostic codes for the SRS system. Before you go any further, you should find yourself a copy of the FSM and pull the codes according to the instructions.

Once you know what you're really dealing with, the FSM will also have a table that will explain what the code means, and troubleshooting steps.

The FSM will also have diagrams of the sensors and ecu's for the SRS system. Overall (and still somewhat generalized), it's comprised of a central ECU in the dash, and at least two sensors (one in each fender- drivers side below the battery tray, passenger side below the air intake).

Screwing around with the SRS system is not advised, and you should at least disconnect the battery if you plan on plugging or unplugging any of the ECU or sensor connections.

The wire under your seat is just for the seatbelt light on the dash- if it's taped up, that means a previous owner just bypassed it. It's unrelated to the SRS system.
