I have a check engine light with two errors. One was (PO305) which is a cylinder 5 misfire so I was going to swap ignition coils and replace my plugs to see what the problem is. Shouldn't be too bad.

The other was a (P0136) HO2S-12 which reads as a Bank 1 Sensor 2 circuit malfunction. I got a new O2 sensor to replace the broken one, but I want to make sure I replace the correct O2 sensor. I was told at the Auto store it's the downstream sensor but want to make sure that's correct. Which side of the car is Bank 1 Sensor 2 and which end (front to back) is it? I think my Tacoma only has 2 O2 sensors and it's the sensor on the passenger side towards rear of the vehicle, but would appreciate someones advice.

You're V6 right? So bank 1 is driverside and sensor 2 is the downstream, after the cat convertor. Make sure to use Denso sensor. Amazon or rockauto are usually cheapest.

Yep V6 3.4L. I ordered a Denso sensor from Napa. Just checked Rock Auto for prices and boy you are right. $92 at Napa, $51 at rock auto. Might have to return it for that price wow. I just bought rotors, calipers, and pads from Napa too, should've checked rock auto...didn't know they would be so different! Thanks for the heads up.

Both of my cats are bad. I installed a URD O2 sensor simulator a couple of years back to clear a p0420 code and it did the job. I knew I have had an exhaust leak for sometime and just got around to the one closest to the downstream o2 sensor last week. As soon as I fixed that leak and test ran it, I could smell burning plastic. I looked around but couldn't come up with an answer, perhaps that sensor was used to a certain amount of oxygen getting by and now that I fixed the leak it burnt it up? I’m kind of reluctant on replacing that sensor being that my cats are bad. Could also be the URD sensor is no longer good? Also, a wire burnt up after fixing that leak? I’m going to go out there today with a multimeter and try and check for continuity and go from there.
