Locked myself out at a state park at 2:AM and no one around. Cell phone inside. Luckily, I had glued a key inside the rear taillight well. I keep a Phillips head under my bed mat. However, one of the Phillip head screws was hard to unscrew and I freaked I was gonna strip the head. I’m now going the magnetic hide-a-key route and wonder the best place to place it or where you attach yours. Do you make it hard or easy to get to?

If I were to hide a key on my truck, I would stick a magnetic holder in a frame rail, wrapped in tape to make sure it's secure.

I just leave my rear slider unlatched. I’m able to get to the rear door lock through it.

If I were to hide a key I’d just put it in the back side of the gas door panel

Never heard of a magnetic key holder dropping off, but I suppose it’s happened. What brand tape that won’t degrade over years?

I've locked myself out in the middle of nowhere a few times and usually I just use my shoelaces tied into a slipknot to pull the lock up from inside. I guess that's why they stopped using that style of lock

I put my magnetic holder on the inside of the rear bumper. Lug lock key goes inside the tail hitch.

magnetic holder inside the square tubing of the trailer hitch. No way it's falling out. But I'm liking the idea of using a zip tie to hide it somewhere underneath.

I have a second key that I always take with me when I grab all the crap for my pockets. House key, truck key and all the little grocery store scanny thingies in one pocket and spare key in the other. Been doing that for probably 8 years, paid off more than a few times.

I don't trust leaving a way to get into your car ON/UNDER the car for someone to find. Granted, if someone wants to steal it, they will steal it.

Magnetic key holder under the frame. Don't do it. They will find it. Do not ask me how I know.

Lol empty beer can is pretty funny. We had a hide a key on my bosses truck. It stayed for years then one day we needed it and it was gone.
