I have a local shop that charges me $20 to change my oil if I bring them the oil and filter. I've been using the Wix XP filter and changing every 8000-10,000 mi. I noticed that the OEM oil filter is about half as much (I think).

Is this the correct filter: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Toyota-Oil-Filter-04152-YZZA1-OEM/829566576

It doesn't have the gaskets/plastic insert things in the picture like the Wix one does: https://www.walmart.com/ip/WIX-Filt...ge-Lube-Metal-Free-Filter-Pack-of-1/136579415

I'd prefer to order through Walmart.com, but will use Amazon if needed.

I buy my OEM filters through my local dealership for $7.00/ea
Last time I purchased 12 and they gave me 3 for free.
I do my own maintenance just for my own peace of mind though.

I go to the dealer. Too easy to make a knockoff, which at that point, why not just use wix or whatever the auto parts store has.

I just buy from dealer, I also buy wiper inserts and such too. Don't think service writers don't notice when the only transactions are the free service or warranty work. I'd rather know I have OEM parts and some leg to stand on, should I need to prove I've been maintaining.

I bought my last case of filters from eBay, it was from a dealer from Miami/Florida. Got it for about $40 shipped. They even included the washer(s) for the drain plug, which is usually separate.

IS that a case of 10? seems pretty good if they even throw in the washers.

Not to upset u, But cut open a OEM filter and compare this to a wix. You will probably will switch to the wix filter.
BIG DIFFERENCE. The wix also has the drain in the box as well as you talked about..

Not saying Wix and Napa Gold filters that are made by Wix aren't good I trust them but these are cartridge elements you would just have to get it out of the box and compare the number of pleats and the material. photos of them look nearly as same as OEM.

I love all the "OEM is da most bestest" douche canoodles. You folks always crack me up. I'm not talking exclusively about oil filters.

Yes on our trucks u r correct sir. But when I have had to chance to cut open a OEM toyota filter and compared it to a wix, there is big difference. The paper element is harder to tell.. MY thinking is when comparing screw on filters if wix is better then OEM >> I kind of think its the same with the paper element.

I know there is a big difference in several brands of spin on... they can hide poor quality more easily in them. I seen plenty of cut open videos
