Wheels that dont kill mpg??

    Honestly just want to level out the truck, raise is like 2” at MOST. I’m not doing any crazy off roading, just driving down trails, camping, hunting, and maybe a good mud bog once in a while lol

    And just to give you an idea, the stock OR wheel is 24lbs.

    Change in 1 lb of wheel and 1lb of tire, although close, probably do not have the same effect. I think the more weight the farther from the center, the greater the impact. A beefy tire on a light wheel will be better than a beefy tire on a stock wheel, but you’re still going to have mileage impact.

    Fun fact, 17” tires are heavier than 16” tires in the examples I’ve given. I thought they’d be lighter since there is less sidewall but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

    Then lift shouldn't pose much of an issue for you. Granted most of the people here who have done a lift don't do it to see mpg gains, they do it for increased performance and functionality offroad...unless you're a mall crawler than 6" lift and you just might get over those curbs. I would invest in a good set of A/T tires first as that will make the biggest difference. As I said before, if you're concerned about mpg's then you'll need to manage the weight and maybe not go for those awesome new wheels that will curb-stomp your mileage. Another thing affecting it is rolling resistance in the tires, but that's been covered in other threads by people far more knowledgeable in the subject than I.

    Honestly I love the look of the stance and tire size of the TRD pro. Just having a hard time finding the suspension and tires.

    If you have money to burn, you can ball out on TE37X's which are some of the lightest off-road wheels you can get at ~16lbs.

    I'm not much of an aggressive offroader, so I can't really say. but I had to take the mudflaps off to stop rubbing up front. I've not rubbed since. I would assume it would be ok for some light to maybe moderate offroading, but I really don't know.

    There's a FN FX pro dedicated thread in teh tires/wheels forum and I think a dedicated falken wildpeak thread, maybe someone else in there in my situation might know.

    I have 2” lift with 285/70/17 BFG KO2 and get maybe .5 to 1 lower mpg. I don’t notice it on the digital mpg gauge but I calculated it out.
    My current mpg is anywhere from 20 to 22. I’ve had 23mpg only a couple times.
    These KO2s in C rated “not DT” tires are about 53lbs I think. The new DT tires are crap. Stay away and make sure you have the snow flake on the tire. Many people are having issues with their new DT (different tread compound) design

    Hancook Dynapro ATMs 265 70 R17's were the lightest all terrains I could find. I lost 1mpg when I took off the lower front chin spoiler thing, 1mpg when I raised the front end 2 inches and 1 more when I added the larger tires. I went from just over 20 mpg average to 17.5ish.

    Also the Nitto Ridge Grappler is pretty aggressive and comes in a P rated 285/70/17 at around 44lbs but the tread is not quite as deep as their C and E rated tires. But those are around 57 to 64 lbs I think.

    Did I miss it where you said what your current MPG and driving conditions and load and all for normal driving look like? There are so many variables here. Are you already getting 17/19 and wanting no net change, or are you higher than that on your averages?

    I have these wheels as well. They are 18 or so pounds so you can save 8 or 9 lbs over the factory wheels (depending on the wheel) and put that weight into the tire. That way you benefit from added durability and don’t suffer a mileage hit.

    pair the 18 lb wheels with some light SL load 265/75r16 Michelin’s and you’ve got a great camping package that’s lighter than stock and will will get you better than stock MPG.
