Hey guys, I got my Tacoma exactly how I want it finally, what are your thoughts on wheel spacer? I think they would look really good on my truck. I really like the look on other Tacos. I’m looking for something that sticks out enough where you can at least tell the stance is there, but not too much to where it looks redic.
Give me your brand, and spec of spacer.
Benefits? Downsides? Did you have shop install them and how much.
    Thank you!

You should stick to a reputable brand, like Spidertrax (1.25” only) or Bora.

The size of the spacers you want will depend on the offset of your wheels.

If you can install a wheel AND HAVE A TORQUE WRENCH, you can install wheel spacers.

Also, are your tires close to rubbing anywhere with your current setup? If so, adding spacers will make them rub.

They are nowhere near close. I have a 3-2 level. Thanks for the tip. Any tips on installing them? Do you use locktite? I’m not sure the offset of my wheels but I can look.
Looks like the wheel offset is +1mm. So stick to a 1.25?

Have you checked the clearance with the tires turned all the way to each side?
Spidertrax supplies Locktite with their spacers. Use it or don’t. I didn’t.
Just torque them to ~85 lb-ft and retorque them every time you remove your wheels.
    DO NOT overtorque them.
    A +1 offset plus a 1.25” spacer is equivalent to a -31 offset wheel.
Turn your wheels all the way to one side and check the gaps. Then visualize how much clearance you’d have if the tires were out another 1.25”.

I just had my new shoes put on! 275/75/16. Thinking of getting some spidertrax as well. Did they add any vibration? What size would you recommend? Does 1.25" make a noticeable difference? Like everyone else, I'm looking for them to stick out the side just a little bit more. Lastly, if I'm close to rubbing now will the spidertrax probably put me over the edge to where I need to trim some? Thanks for the tips!!

I've got 1.25" Spidertrax on my stock TRD Pro with the Toyota Beadlock style wheels. The wheels are +10 so with the spacers that puts me at about -21 offset. Driving around town with no problems. When turning and going around corners with bumps or driveways it rubs like a MF'er. Daily driving though on pavement no problems at all. Might swap them out for some .75 Boras but the poke from the 1.25" spacers looks great.

Edit: the .75" spacers from Bora would put me at about -10 offset with my wheels and I suspect I would have no rubbing problems at all.

My wheels are at a zero offset but I did do a leveling kit. So if I'm close to rubbing now and went with the 1.25" spacers it would probably be too much right? I don't mind trimming a little if it gives that poke that looks so good

If your wheels are +0 and you add 1.25" wheels spacers that will put you at -31.75. You are going to rub all over the place.

With the 1.25" spacers on a 0 offset wheel you would definitely rub. With my OEM wheels (+25 offset), they take the offset to approx -6, and with 265/75R16's it's a fairly close fit, but even fully articulated with the wheels turned, I haven't had an issue. I believe going to > -30 offset would be a problem.

Very helpful stuff. This is why I love TW. So if 1.25” puts me around -31 and I don’t want to go over 30, think the .75” could work? Problem is I’m at 285/75/16 and you’re at 265...

Lastly, I’m a trimming noob. Always said I wouldn’t do it. What’s the safest part to trim? There’s gotta be a harmless point somewhere right? Thanks again!

Spidertrax 1.25 hands down. Been running them for 5 years with zero problems, my truck has been airborne and banged up on trails. 38BB5F77-8455-472B-9A39-A85537FEC82B.jpg74BA0186-9F71-430D-BDFB-C9DFC552F4FA.jpg

Another vote for Spidertrax 1.25, been running mine about a year now with no issues on stock wheels. If I were to do it again I probably would go 1.5’s from bora just because I don’t think spidertrax makes 1.5’s.
