So I took my BRAND NEW, straight out of the box R8 wheels get mounted at a shop today. After getting them back I noticed they had completely wrecked my Sh**

Scratches on the bead lock, dented the center caps and damaged to the inside of the wheel surface (back side) if that wasn’t bad enough I could litterly take my pink and lift the weights used to balance the wheel from the wheel itself.

The manager was out but I’m speaking with him tommmrow. What chance do i stand of having them replace th entire damaged wheels in lieu of taking them to a wheel shop for repair? 63A43243-F055-4E21-8C2C-9C7A068BE595.jpg414914D7-0E81-463A-8FE3-4862C17EC87B.jpg

Grab a sharpie and call it good. The more you go to a tire shop, the worse they'll be. With black, you can fix easily and you won't see unless you look up close.

Every pic except the center cap was taken at the shop before I left with the tech standing right next to me. Thanks for the advice, Dad. But that doesn’t answer my question...

Is the damage to inside of the wheel normal when mounting? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before but this is mj first set of brand new wheels.

F@&k that!! Definitely should be replaced. That’s why they have insurance! If I go into someone’s yard with my skid steer and hit their house I’m responsible, hence why I pay out the ass to cover my ass.

This is pretty common really. The dented center cap is maybe worse than normal but the other stuff happens more times than not. Gotta find a shop who knows what they have their hands on and how their customer feels about them. Talk to them before you let them do the work. If you let them know up front you're gonna have an issue if they're damaged they will either turn down your business or take their time with em.

At this point I'd say the most you could possibly get is a new center cap and an offer to have the wheels repaired some where. Highly doubt they will replace any of those wheels.

I would say this is not normal. I just had a set of black TRD pro 4Runner wheels installed this week and there is not a scratch on them. I checked their equipment before install to make sure they had plastic shields on all their tire changing equipment. From past experience they will probably make you go to a wheel repair place.

I had my shop inspect each rim before install. I talked to the owner and he said he had a guy that fixed damage like this if it ever happened. He said more often than not that guy is fixing damage done by other shops that refuse to fix their mistakes.

I'm not your dad. But, I have worked at a tire shop for 20 years. Take pictures of what you are getting worked on before you have it done. How are you going to defend yourself if he says. He doesn't know if his guy did that or not? Believe me, I have seen it several times over years.

I am sure there is a sign or a clause in the paperwork you signed before having them do the work.... probably reads something like this. "We are not responsible for damages gen mounting a tire on a aftermarket rim."
    Good luck

Definitely not how it worked/works at LS. Nothing signed before. The only thing you signed was for your CC company when you were paying for the work (after completed). Not sure how it works at other wheel/tire stores though.

Out here you have to sign a estimate of the work being performed.

I don't believe I had to sign anything when mine were installed.

That maybe, but i will almost guarantee there is a sign hanging in the shop that states, not responsible for damage.

I bet there are places like that. I know at the shop I went to the owner said he takes full responsibility if they do any damage.

The wheels should be checked before they do it. If you check after they could say it wasn't them.
