The same shit everyone else has.
My truck rolled over 100k miles a few months ago, so you know what that means...

    Wheel bearings!

I thought it was just the worn out tires. Those got replaced, the noise is still there. I pulled the front end apart and spun the hub.

    *click*click*click*grind*grind*grind*

I know there are a few vendors on here who are selling complete wheel bearing/hub assemblies.
Unfortunately, I cannot remember who all does them.

I would like to replace the assemblies with OEM parts.

The one seller I found seems to have less than stellar turn around times which makes me want to find a different seller.

For those of you who have replaced your front bearings/hubs, where did you order your assemblies from? How many miles are on them since replacement? Any issues?

    Thanks.

Thanks, but Bamatoy is the one with less than stellar turnaround time it seems based on the last few pages of his thread....

Weird, I didn't have any problems at all going through him. He even helped walk me through the install steps over the phone.

I hope there's some kinda fluke or something. I'd love to order from him because he offers the best warranty. I'm hoping he chime in his thread.

If you want all OEM, you have to go elsewhere. All the listed vendors use aftermarket wheel hubs made by Dorman. And I believe they are using part #s Dorman no longer lists for the Tacos - 930-403, a $28 made in Taiwan/China. New Dorman # is 930-107 $56 - probably also made in T/C. I once emailed Dorman what the difference was between the part #s and they rudely only stated 107# was the correct part #. That being said I'm running Dura hub/bearing combos and have not had issues thus far - but only only have about 30K on them. I previously had a Dorman hub with a Precision bearing and it lasted about 50K; however, I offroad and don't expect to get 100K from any hub/bearing combo.

Whether or not bamatoy is the best businessman or not I dunno, I think he works solo so maybe sometimes there's hiccups. I'm sure nj636 does good work, too. Both of them have been around here for a long time.

I got hubs from bamatoy last winter and he got them to me when he said he would, which was right around Christmas and New Years. He's a stand-up guy and to me the most important part is the hubs seemed well done.

IMO the thing to do is order with enough time that you don't get in a bind if it takes a couple weeks extra. I learned that years ago with aftermarket Toyota stuff, you're usually dealing with small shops and expecting Amazon-type response isn't fair. As long as they're upfront and honest I just roll with it. Sometimes things happen, family emergencies, hurricanes. When you're a small business owner you're always one step away from a major financial meltdown.

No doubt both Bamatoy and Jerseybuilt know how to build hub assemblies, they both have been doing it for quite awhile now. I'm wondering what grease each are using. I've found in the past in the old Dodge I had it all wound up to a great grease for longevity.

Proper installation plays a big part in the longevity of the bearing as well.

No matter how much grease or quality of grease in the bearing, improper installation will wear the bearing prematurely.

Definitely a properly installed bearing will last alot longer. I use to put wheel bearings on the old man's big rig fleet and noticed a pattern in ware out. All bearings were assembled to the "T" for torque, amount of seat, how many rotations, amount of back off, what cleaner we used, rubber gloves all the way, used what brand bearings, even documented everything, how bad the snow was that year, rutted roads, the drivers etc.etc.
When you get all variables the a same and done properly it boils down to grease. Found he get extra years and over 70,000+ miles out certain grease over others.
I took all that learning and did the same on my old Dodges over the years. I'm a full synthetic old guy now. A couple brands stood out I found and I'll stick to them on all my stuff.
