Does anyone know rather or not I can use the front hub assembly from an 05 Taco on my 04 Taco with 2WD? It looks to be identical. I am trying to avoid having to find a press somewhere and go to the trouble of pressing the old bearing out and installing the new one. Advice so appreciated!

You will still need to press the bearing in/out of the spindle/knuckle, either with a shop press or an OTC Hub Grappler-type tool. 2005+ has a bearing housing that attaches to the spindle with 4 bolts.

As for the hub, Rock Auto has PreRunner hubs available for 1st gens, but not available separately for 2nd gens.

Thanks for your replies. What I would like to know now is rather or not I will have to necessarily remove the spindle/knuckle from the truck, as opposed to just unbolting the hub from the knuckle and having the bearing pressed out of the hub only? It is a lot of extra work to remove the spindle...
