I recently put up a question and I got an answer that 285's would be better than getting 33x12.50 ( note I do have a 4cyl. )

But the size difference isn't really that much

    Diameter inches (mm) 32.59 (827.7)
    Width inches (mm) 11.22 (285)

A 285 means 285mm wide. The tire calculator simply converts 285mm to inches which is 11.22". The height is calculated from the second number, which in the picture you have 65. 65 is a percentage of the width and will give you the sidewall height. Exp: 11.22"x.65=7.293". You then multiply 7.293 by 2 and then add your rim size and you get the tire height. Exp: 7.293x2=14.586+18=32.586. A 315/60/18 would be very close to the same as a 33x12.50/18, if they even offer that size. But tire calculators will only get you close to the size of the tire. The actual size will vary from tire to tire, depending of the tread design. The biggest difference between the 285/65/18 and the 33x12.50/18 would be the 1" difference in the width and the little bit of height, which will also account for more weight in the 33x12.50. I hope this helps instead of confusing the hell out of you lol.

I don't see why not. It will definitely kill the power some and also the mpg's, if you're worried about that, but you could always regear to get it back close to stock. I have a v6 so I can't tell you how good or bad it is with the 33's and 4cyl but I've seem many people running them, so it can't be that bad.
