I'd go with a Superwinch. They have lots of options for different winches and they have pretty good warranties on them. I believe all of their SX winches include a wired and wireless remote as well as a removable solenoid box. They also have a clockable gearbox to make getting to the clutch handle easier. I've seen them get put through some abuse and haven't seen one break yet

Also I know its not the purpose of this thread, but since you're looking for a bumper too, we've got this deal running right now on Coastal Offroad bumpers and armor. Good way to save yourself some money on the bumper so you can get yourself a nicer winch/ get more recovery gear

I guess I should have prefaced that my camping/overlanding is usually outside of Florida haha. I have a Warn on my work truck that gets at least monthly use so I'm leaning that way. Plus... I'm a bit of a "brand-whore." Lol

Great info! I was unaware that the VRs aren't made in the US. Wonder why that is.

    Warn sets the standard.
The winch should be rated for 1.5 times the load, that's 9-9500 lb winch, duel batteries are recommended for anything bigger.
For my budget, I'll be using the harbor freight specials, I've had good luck with them.

I have a 10k Amazon XPV auto winch, and it works just fine and looks good. Came with Synthetic line which I liked.

Warn is a great product! Top tier for sure.
Superwinch (before they sold out to Westin) made solid products.
Mile Marker is another good winch... U.S. military have used these for years.
I'm currently running a ComeUp winch. Excellent construction and operation.

    Cheers

I chose to go with a Badland 12K. I honestly have little to no expectations of needing it, but, I like to fish in some not so easily accessible locations. In the event I needed some assistance, it's going to work for my needs.

It's hard to beat a good Warn.
