I'm starting to get some squeaky brakes and haven't replaced my pads or rotors since I've bought my truck 1.5 years ago. Can someone send me some links. Only want to spend 350 for everything. Any suggestions?20170327_173646.jpg

The same shit everyone else has.
OEM parts. My first set lasted 75k miles, I expect the replacements to last just as long.

I went to auto zone and got the middle priced rotor and the middle priced pads for duralast with life time warranty. Buy one set and then if you need new pads just go purchase the next set and once the old ones are off take those used ones back and get your refund. Free pads for life. Did for 3 years on my 2nd Gen before it was stolen. Just My .02

I just bought hawk lts pads and the hawk sector brake rotors, really nice combo. I know you don't "need" slotted and/or drilled rotors but this Hawk combo is the best braking I've had on mine, definitely a noticeable difference from my akebono pads/centric rotors I had before. They are brand new so I have no idea what kind of life I'll get from them.

The akebono ceramic pads and centric rotors were a decent combo and they definitely last a long time.

I settled with Brembo blanks and the TRD street pads.

BEST brakes and rotors? Well that's Brembo carbon ceramics.
But those will cause you to go broke unless you have really deep pockets.
OEM are the only way to go when it comes to pads and rotors. My first set lasted 65k, then I had to replace them every 15-20k when I used auto parts store items. Even their top of the line stuff doesn't last. I even bought a set of expensive EBC slotted and dimpled rotors and their green stuff pads and they sucked too.

OEM. Works just as well as everything else. This isn't a race car.

    Exactly.

factory pads with factory rotors will give you the best results. Quietest, cleanest, longest lasting, and they work too.

IMG_0233.jpg I recently did my brakes and went with EBC with the yellowstuff pads. They are a better upgrade from oem.

I think the questions here are : what brake combo is best for most mileage and what brake combo is best for increased performance and feeling of control.

In my case, the oem hardware is ok, but the rotors will minorly warp towards their end..and there may be a 1-2 year period where you need to deal with warped rotors when the brakes get heated up. Even though I'm at 75k, with the jingle jingles only starting 3 months ago, the rotors have been warped for over a year when the brakes are heat loaded.

How do we know that the OeM rotors are Brembo?

At 127,000 miles, I replaced the OEM pads (not sure if they were original or not, I bought the truck with 105,000 miles on it).

I used the Hawk HPS 5.0 pads. The rotors did not have any big grooves, so I reused them as-is (did not have them turned).

I'm at 134,000 miles now, and they work awesome. Brakes always felt a bit soft with the OEM pads, but feels better (to me) with the Hawks. Only complaint is that they do create more dust than the OEMs. [EDIT note: soon after I posted this, the dusting problem went away. 6,000 miles since then, and no more red dust on the wheels]
