    Hello,
I have an 87 Toyota pickup that I bought off the showroom floor. It has 248,000 miles on it and only 2 small dings. It has a custom canopy that it came with that makes it look like a 4 runner. I was told at the dealership that it was the very last truck with a 22r carbureted engine to come off the assembly line. It's never been over 75 mph and never been 4-wheeling. I am wondering what the current value would be, and does it make it special since it was the last one?
Thanks so much for any help.
    John

    Oh look, another mod....
Here's the short answer: It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. If you want the blue book value of it, you can look that up online. There are a few dozen sites to help you gauge the "estimated" price.

This. I would probably give 1200-1500 max and don’t care that it’s the last one. The next guy may think it’s the greatest collectible ever and give 10 times that.

Best bet would be to just search the internet for similar trucks and see what their asking price is. Some of the older ones fetch a good amount of money.
I say keep it and put another 250k miles on it.
A little surprised that it's not fuel injection, thought most were from 1986 on.

In for the pics. I want another 86 pick up. But with the market the way it is I am not spending that kind of money.

Based on the info you gave.... somewhere between $10 and $10,000

Also I'm sure the salesman would piss himself if he knew you still remember some BS line he made up about it being the "last off the line" 25 years later.

Thanks for all the replies. I just want to be clear, it wasn't the salesman who told me about the truck being last off the line. When I went to trade my wife's truck in at a major Toyota dealership in Seattle, they mistakingly assumed I was trading in mine, and ran the VIN number. When I told them I wasn't trading mine they offered me any car on the lot if I did. When I asked them why they wanted it so badly they said it was the last silver 22r motor truck that left Japan. I guess my question is wether or not there is a collectable value to it for this reason? Probably not, but I just don't want to sell it for less than it's worth. Thanks again.

Pictures would help people here to give a more accurate price, not sure of the fact it was literally last of the 22r carbureted adds anything other than some interesting trivia/talking points, but that is a pretty neat piece of history, It would prob help if you could actually have proof of this claim from the dealer or it may just be seen as a remote possibility not a hard fact. Sounds like a sweet survivor..Post some pictures so we all can admire!

I bought the last truck Dad was ever going to order, as we both had the same specs. My first new rig was a 1984 Toyota Longbed Deluxe 22RE carbureted, 5-speed manual, 2wd, and it served me well during winter commutes between the Missoula, MT area and Prince Rupert, BC's Alaska Marine Highway terminal. A (Barcelona) Red Access Cab, 4wd, 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual was not available from their local dealer, so they called on my 1984 dealer, Appleway Toyota in Spokane, WA, and were told "give me a couple weeks and we'll see what we can find." They found his truck! It also has a Century Sportsman topper with rod racks mounted on the ceiling. He wanted to keep that truck and driving it as long as possible so I bought it from the estate, installing a new battery so we were able to read the odometer display, look up the value on NADAGuides dot com, visit the probate attorney and DMV for the temporary permit, and I disconnected the battery ground since it was a month before I returned to drive it home with my daughter. "Are you sure you can drive a stick, Dad?" Yep, the kids really want the truck... 20210907_170815.jpgIt doesn't show the dent in front of the right rear fender, as Dad turned too soon while backing out of the garage to drive laps around the ranch circle of barns, hay sheds, and shops. That was the last day he drove, but he'd watch my youngest sister drive that routine while he watched his truck. It will be carrying his ashes later this year to places we'd been, hiking, hunting, fishing, hand logging and other activity.

Ive seen older Toyota trucks go for up to $5,000 and even closer to $10,000 if it was mint , and as low as $500-$1500 for not so nice ones, really there is a huuuge range of possible values and without pictures, its really impossible to give any kind of accurate price estimates
