Hey Guys, new to the forum, but have searched for information for several years. Great resource!

Curious what the value of my Tacoma is. I have a white 1997 Toyota Tacoma dx ext cab 4wd v6 automatic and blue interior with only 90,000 original miles and is in incredible condition. I purchased it from the second owner who purchased it in 1998 I believe. It spent most of its life in his garage next to his Mercedes and only used for driving to and from his hunting lease. Its super clean and low mileage. I purchased it four years ago with 77,000 miles and now considering letting it go but unsure what to price it at. Not ready to sell yet and this is not an advertisement to do so, just wanted to tap into the knowledge you guys have on the market values on these trucks. Basically, what would you sell it for if it were yours. I have replaced many parts after chasing a hard start issue that ended up being a faulty replacement fuel pump with a bad check valve. Ended up going down the rabbit hole on that one... will list the following things that have been replaced or maintenance done. Condition is mechanically excellent, cosmetic minor dings and scratches. No evidence of any prior accident damage at all. Looks to be all factory paint. Zero frame rust or really any rust to speak of. Truck is extremely solid and a great example. Everything works as it should.

BFG All terrain tires 31X10.5r15 with less that 1000 miles.
    Bilstein shocks all four corners
    Timing belt/water pump/thermostat/pulleys replaced recently
    computer changed (have spare)
    idle air control valve
    plugs/wires/coils
    fuel pressure regulator
    belts/hoses
    fuel injectors
    Mobil one synthetic since owning.
    I'm sure I'm forgetting something...

    I also added
Pioneer Double din DVD player with back up camera and Bluetooth. (have stock radio)
    frame mounted 2" receiver hitch.

    came with toolbox and bedliner
    will attach photo's as well.

Has a very minor bend in rear bumper from previous owner pulling trailer from bumper with ball mount. Front bumper has small ding.

    will attach photos to thread.

What would you sell this for if it was yours? and where should I advertise? I know I wont recoup my investment, just curious what it should bring realistically. Thank you for any advice!

Everyone here will tell you to keep it but good luck with the sale.
I've been looking around alot and it depends on where you're located but I've seen them anywhere from 6,000$-12,000$

Located in North Louisiana. Was in Alabama prior. Has never seen snow/salt. Most I've seen locally are typically beaten up with 200K or more miles around $7-8 for similarly equipped. Wish I could keep, but no place to store. I have a 72 K5 also. Too many vehicles and one headed to college, so need to thin the herd unfortunately. I also have a 3/4 ton Chevrolet that does the heavy lifting. I cant pull a tractor with the Tacoma unfortunately.

Probably just slightly less than you paid for it just 4 years ago

I didn't know if the timing belt and new tires helped. Dropped about $2500 in it this last year alone. Had planned on keeping and maintained it accordingly thinking I wasn't going to sell, but circumstances have changed unfortunately. Was just curious what you guys thought it was worth based on what you've seen in similar shape. Thanks for any input!

honestly people don't care what you put into it. All they care is that its nice and shiny. I once sold a car and it had scratches they didn't care about the $1500 in parts that made it a solid vehicle for years to come.

    I’d Say $3500.

It’s only worth what someone will pay for it and that’s the top end of what I’d offer

Interior is in very good condition. Seats had sheepskin seat covers on them when I got it so seats are very nice. No rips, obvious wear, or tears in any of the oem seat fabric. Minor scratches on some of the plastics. The cup holder is cracked on one side. I'll try to remember to take some pics and post.

The decals are just a 1/8 stripe 1/8 gap and 1/4 navy pinstripe. I'm sure was just a dealer add on. 3m scotchcal 72409. If you want some look on the 3M website. 724 is that size stripe last two numbers are the color (09 is navy blue). Same size as was originally on the truck. I actually just replaced them since the original had some chipping after my son drove it through an automated carwash. That's why I hand wash... Should have been more specific when I asked my son to wash it. I wasn't pleased with his decision.

link to 3m site if interested.

Interior pics. Sorry, not the best photos. Raining and overcast outside. Could use a vac.

Nice truck. I'm in a similar position with the money put into the truck. People don't care about specifics of what's been done necessarily. They want something that looks and drives perfect in their minds.

True! Not everyone considers things like that. I do. I had a friend who bought a 2000 4Runner that was extremely clean, but had 160k miles on the original timing belt and nothing mechanically had been done to it. Paid a premium because it had nice rims and looked good. Needed a lot of maintenance including shocks, brakes, belts, hoses, timing belt, steering components, etc. I told him not to buy. Now he’s driving a time bomb. No telling what that timing belt looks like. But, it’s got fresh rims/tires and a cool wrap! ‍♂️ Lol!

    So much this....

~That truck is clean as a whistle

~Finding that a truck like yours is like finding a "needle in a haystack"

~Appears maintenance was always proper rehashed, not junk/At-home hacked

*To the op, just word in sale ad "Runs real good. I'd drive 'er to Vegas tomorrow if I didn't have to water the plants"

Wow! Good comp. Seems high, but again, I have no idea the market for these. Still learning. Thanks for sharing!

Hagerty insurance didn't even ask me for how many miles were on mine, nor ask for photos when I requested a guaranteed $10K replacement value. I will be asking them to bump it up to $15K since I only have 29,000 miles on it. This is Arizona though where people are selling 170k-200k mileage 4wd's for $9,000.
