When I hear Hotel California it just reminds me of a bartending story I have ……….. somewhere around 1985-1988 I was bartending in a place that had the nickname The ZOO because most of the people that hung out there were animals . Anyway Hotel California is playing and I had just broke up a fight and about 30 seconds later I hear this horrendous crack bang sound from the other side of the bar. Big square bar that sat about 40 people . As I turn my attention that way I see a guy falling face first towards the floor .Another guy standing there with a large metal legged bar stool in his hands . Turns out the guy whacked him as hard as he could in the back of the head with that stool and when he went down he split his forehead open on the brick pad that a wood stove was sitting on . The ZOO emptied out mighty quick with a lot of screaming . Ambulance was called and cops showed up . Blood everywhere. Huge investigation by the cops , I was also interviewed by a private investigator weeks later . Long story short the guy wielding the bar stool got away with it eventually. Other guy was in the hospital for a week .
