Greetings all, new here from upstate NY, hour east of Buffalo.

Anyone know what type of horn this is? I got it off some site a while back. Did not come with instructions. Only have 1 blue wire coming out of it as shown in the pictures . Was trying to make my wimpy OEM horm louder but not sure how to hook this up. Thanks in advance!D4E82FE2-3183-4816-8D0D-2A9D36D5F000.jpg 797EF7D4-0C35-44D7-A84B-68CA19DDFD2C.jpg

Blue wire to power from relay, ground is through the mount.
Basic Chinese snail horn. Sound will be kind of meh, you should have a little bit if adjustability in the tone by taking the cap off and there should be an adjustment screw that you can turn in for higher tone and out for lower tone. But it won't be much difference.

Do a search for 4 note train horns. You will NOT be disappointed if you go that route. Older GM cars had 4 horns, each a different note, and it sounded like train horns. It's a fairly easy install. If I can do it anyone can.

Train horn sounds good! So annoyed by drivers sitting on green light/arrow on their phones or just talking. Figure a LOUD horn will remind them to pay attention when they're on the road.

I used to have twin freight truck horns from... probably the 70s? They were old stuff my grandfather had from his logging days. Had a 5-7ish gallon tank stuck up in my rear bumper, big ol' solenoid, and ran dual lines everywhere to get enough flow to properly power the two horns. My wife really misses it, but I was plagued with leaks with all the connections and some back through the cheap compressor I had. The bell of one of them finally vibrated/corroded off as they were mounted hidden under the truck and I tossed the whole mess. My next truck will definitely be rocking a big horn setup!

Looks like a knockoff of the Lucas Windtone horns from the 50s -- perhaps going back to the 30s. I have two of almost exactly that horn on my 1962 Triumph TR3. They're normally in pairs with two different frequencies (and are marked Low and High) to take advantage of harmonics. The vintage ones, at least, aren't particularly loud.

I'm looking for something to remind people that there's other drivers waiting at the traffic light while they're either distracted by their phone or entrenched in a conversations, maybe make their soul jump out of their body for a second lol , been stuck at the light couple time since they did not move till the light started turning yellow

For those instances, a train horn is a no-no.
    Here ya go.
