I’d avoid heat if you want to preserve the bushings. If you have the time to wait I’d use some penetrating oil like Kroil or pb blaster let it soak over night and try driving it out. Heat would work if you could put it directly on the cam bolt without overheating the bushings. If you have access to oxy acetelyne tanks and were to use a braising tip you could focus some intense heat in a small spot. Good luck and postback on how you do.

The stuck cam has a "hex bolt" head on it for adjustment. The cam is not threaded, so turning it left or right just adjusts the alignment, it doesn't loosen or tighten anything. To your point of shocking things to loosen them, maybe putting an impact wrench on this hex head and torquing it back and forth might shock it loose. If I can get it spinning in there it would probably be easier to drive it out. I'll let it soak with ATF/Acetone and give it some quick bursts back and forth with the impact.

use a crap load of anti seize when you put the new bushings and cam bolts in. Load the cam bolt up with it when you put them in. Did this on my first taco when we replaced the lower control arms. Made alignments butter smooth.

I am curious also, will removing cams for applying anti seize require alignment issues?

would be a great step by step tutorial. with my luck it wouldnt be as simple as removing the cam bolt apply anti seize replace bolt done. those SPC cam bolts posted look like a very good alternative replacement for seized up ones if it were as easy as remove and replace, but im sure its not that easy to do, they sell specialized tools just to remove the seized ones.

I swapped in a set of Moog replacement lcas a month ago and they seem to be holding up fine. Bought em from rock auto. And if anyone needs oem cam bolt set I have my used ones I can sell for a lot cheaper than brand new. I bought a new set just in case I ran into issues with the old ones and ended up installing the new ones anyway.

The cheap pot metal used on the eccentrics is not worth your time. The metal strips out after one alignment. Stick with OEM hardware and aftermarket such as whiteline or moog bushings.

I ordered this Sunday and it shipped today.
Just an FYI, the cam bolts are a bolt only on the rear of each LCA. The front has a bolt through a sleeve. The front cam on the front of the sleeve can be removed with a chisel. It's splined onto the sleeve. All four of my bolts came out but the two front sleeves are seized up pretty good on my truck.
It's sitting on jack stands in the garage right now with the struts removed and the LCA's dangling in place.
I'm going to try the press tool, and if it doesn't work, I'll hose the sleeves with PB Blaster and hit them with the air hammer. I'm going to get a couple of 1/2" socket head cap screw bolts to slide into the sleeves so I have something to put the air hammer punch into. I'll spray, hammer and try the press tool alternating until something moves.
As a last resort, I'll cut them out and put in new bushings and sleeves.
I'll report back after this weekend.

I had to cut the front cams to replace the drivers side LCA with Moog brand. I didn't have any tools nor the patience to replace the bushing that was bad on mine. I need to inspect the passenger side.

You mean the OEM hardware that is prone to seizing? lol
