    So my sister's lived there for awhile. Got a moped as her first vehicle. It got stolen off the street. Then I give her my prius when i upgraded to the tacoma and just heard today they stole the cat converter even with a shield on. Idk how anyone defends that shit hole.

    The problems that exist here aren’t unique.

    It’s an easy target for people to slander but there aren’t many metro areas that can match Portland’s natural beauty.

    I didn’t mind Portland, but I haven’t been for many years. I loved the aerospace museum though. Probably the best I’ve ever experienced!

    I grew up in Portland (proper — not a neighboring city that uses Portland as a landmark) and it was a very nice city 10-15 years ago before the boom. People’s infatuation with Portland is just younger/more recent than other major cities, and you’re laying witness to the deterioration that happens with rapid urbanization and overpopulation. Ever seen San Francisco? LA? Chicago? NYC? Looks like the same shit just in a different toilet.

    I like coos Bay Area, Portland is no longer known for its natural beauty. It’s a shame many “pretty” metro areas have been over shadowed by crime…

    One of the many underlying antecedents to the decay in all these locations is decriminalized substance use & associated behaviors to support said use, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. I know many will take umbrage to this... But it is based on objective observation of the changes over time, along with the changes to the laws and policies...
