    hello,
I was looking at adding a new set of Nitto trail grapplers but noticed that they do NOT come in the same size as the stock
Stock are 275/60/16 I believe on the Tacoma TRD Pro
I think those are 30.6” diameter

    Nitto is offering 275/65/16
    31.89” diameter .

Im trying to run a mud tire that will not rub or require trimming anything to work.

    Will the 275/75/16 work ?
Or do I need to find another brand mud tire that is offered in the exact tire size as the current stock 275/60/16

    Thanks!!

265/75/16 will fit with no issues. I don't know about 275's, I believe that is a typo. A 275/60/16 would only be 29" tall. I can't say for sure about current trucks, but 265/70/16's used to be a common factory size. 265/75/16's are the same width, but 1" taller.

But I'd strongly consider 255/85/16's. That puts you into a 33" tire, but since it is narrow will fit in most applications with little or no issues. The mud flaps may have to go. If you do a search here there are several guys who have posted photos and write ups on that size.

Thanks for your help guys I will search around a bit for more info . It’s looking like diameter difference is right around 1” difference.
Looking forward to running a tire with a bit more aggressive tread pattern .

I currently have 265/75/16 BF Goodrich KO2’s... I think this is about 31.8 in and I have no issues and I’m not even close! I’m actually thinking about stepping up a size on my next set!

My next step is to upgrade to the BF Goodrich KM3’s .... I’d love to go bigger but I’d have to replace the TRD Pro rims which I’m not wanting to do yet!

265/75/16 Duratracs. The Goodyear tire Toyota should have put on an Off Road model, not that stupid Highway Kevlar tire.

I only wish Duratracs came in a 255/80/16 or 255/85/18

I have not. Though I will add spacers if necessary, I’m putting off the lift for now as I have a huge overland trip planed for this year which will consume all of my finances and 4 months of my year.I will be on the road from the end of May till the end of August.Watch this video and tell me what you think.https://youtu.be/2IzmH2LRu6A

Did you feel the need to change gears after moving to the 265/75? Is it shift happy?

No gear change yet. And since my first post I have upgraded to BF Goodrich KO2 285/75/16. I had ABSOLUTELY NO rubbing on road but once off-road I had some slight rub if the wheels were turned and the suspension was flexed. I have since lifted my TRD Pro with 2” Supreme Suspensions lift. And now I have plenty of space! Here is the taco without a lift on 285/75/16! I can show you more if you want....

Looks perfect. Please do! Do you feel the need to re-gear now with the 285/75? Appreciate your time in advance.

So I think regearing is definitely in my future, it doesn’t do horrible but Tacoma’s already don’t do well shifting or finding gears. But I’m not regearing till I go to 35’s next year. It seems to perform fine for now. I definitely lost power to go, but not too much else.

Thanks for that. One last question! Any tire rubbing on the upper control arm when at full lock? FYI I won’t have any additional weight on my truck so if it rubs the fender or anything I can always heat gun the plastic or CMC if needed. I will be keeping it stock height.

Will the 275/75/16 fit a stock 2003 Tacoma?
