Thinking about getting my son some tires for his Tacoma- Can someone tell me the largest size I can fit on his stock 2019 SR5 4x4 without lifting or trimming? He has 16" wheels and Im looking at AT tires- maybe Toyo. He lives in Oregon so wet performance and little mud occasionally. Much appreciated.

Probably 265/75 16. I’ve got that size in the Toyo AT3 on my ‘19 SR5 and they’re perfect. Stock rig and no rub.

Largest diameter you can fit stock is 255/85R16, but it's a skinny profile.

    Largest "balanced" profile is 265/75R16

265/75/16 will work okay on the stock SR5 wheels? thinking of getting a set but also I plan a 2" lift with 5100s in the future. don't want it to look funny or hurt abilities to tow my small camper.

They do look good. The white letters will really stand out on my dark grey SR5 wheels.

why this over 265/75? isn't 265/70/16 a stock size for the TRD OR?

if he has a 4 cylinder based on tire weight 265/70/16 is as big and heavy as you want to go, they come with 245/75/16 from factory

Ahh... I see for a v6 would that matter so much?

I been looking at the difference between p245/75 and p265/75. the 245s weight around 37 pounds and 265s about 41. 4 pounds more per. Do you think that's a big difference that will be drastically noticed with a v6?

Custom sliders (1.75" HREW tube w/ 3/16" base plates). Custom front bumper and high clearance rear bumper (1/4" steel plate, 1.75" tube.) Apex 5500 winch w/synthetic line (36lbs) and required accessories for an underpowered winch (snatch blocks and extra line.) Tekonsha P3 brake controller, remote start, any-time-backup camera w/ front facing camera, Leer 100R shell (w/e-track single slot tie-down mounts for removable Yakima EasyTop.) Cat shields by CaliRaised. Husky liners, window tint, heated seat (passenger only.) Relentless bed rail brackets with QuickFists (shovel/axe/fire extinguisher.) Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount. Anytime rear with front facing camera. Billet front seat risers. Viair 88p. 265/75r16 Goodyear Ultra-terrain tires.

Big/drastic no. But the feeling is subjective and there are already a shait-ton of Tacoma drivers that have a hissy fit when the transmission downshifts.

It's not just the added weight as you are also slightly changing the gearing when you change the wheel diameter. Doubt it'll be an issue unless you already get pissy about the trucks interstate speed shifting.

stock p245 all season around 32 pounds, this is the baseline weight you should try to maintain, pushing more heavier larger AT tire makes the truck work harder using more gas and lessening the performance factors of it

so far no I don't get pissy about shifting. I do have a 2000 pound popup to tow that I haven't got to take anywhere since buying the truck. So i don't have an idea of how it will handle it, I assume good enough being not so heavy and low wind load.

I am new here and also was wondering the same thing. I have a 2019 sr5 in need of new sneakers and am kicking around getting a 265/75/16 but am concerned with rubbing. I really have a concern with cutting / trimming. Most of my driving is on road with the occasional dirt road on some woods but no real off roading. My mechanic tells me to go 255/70/16. Any thoughts?
